Most unbalanced pvp fps I have ever played.
I have played nearly every major fps that has been released and this is by far the most unbalanced. Primary weapons have mediocre damage and feel like a donkey on a camels back. Trying to shoot someone jumping around like a headless chicken with one of these things is so annoying, you pummel them full of bullets and yet they live....... Now I have to reload...... Oh wait there's a guy with a fusion rifle ..... I'm dead..... Spawn.... Crazy dude with a special...... Dead again...... So on and so on..... Seems to me that bungie just wanted to watch everyone run around with no tactics or ability and die/kill randomly. It needs to pick a root between tons of health and powerful weapons or normal health and even powered weapons. Can't mix an match. Makes for bad and uneven gameplay. No one should be stronger than another. Its PvP not gear versus gear or gun versus gun.

6 RepliesI mean this respectfully, but I think you might be missing something. Whenever you play PvP all of your weapons and gear are scaled down to match everyone else. Take me for example, I've got a hand cannon that has 242 attack, yet in PvP it only does about 40 damage per shot. When it comes to abilities of different classes, that's where PvP starts to feel less like a FPS and more like a MMO. It still requires skill to play, but requires an entirely different set of skills.

I take it that you didn't play the Beta then. That had far worse balancing than the current version. I'm not a fan of the PvP but I can do well in it. Just apply these things to your game and you will do fine. #1 Aim for the head always #2 Only use your primary from mid range and longer #3 Always use a shotgun or fusion rifle on anything closer than midrange. Fusion rifle for mid range and shotgun for close. #4 Use your grenades and specials liberally. It might feel cheap but it's how the game is played. No point in fighting it. PS: Use loadouts that cause those specials to linger. Again cheap but effective. #5 Learn the maps. I can't tell you how often I've gotten lost getting around one of the maps that I'm not so familiar with only to get shot in the back. It's frustrating but I've got no one to blame but myself for it.

It's really just learning the reach of each weapon. Had one guy/girl using something like a fusion/sniper rifle. Would two shot a guardian everytime. The rate of fire was instantaneous two shots. Not sure what kind of rifle it was, but I haven't played against anyone else with that gun.

This is the first game Iv ever tried pvp on and man do I suck but it's still fun and tho I have nothing to compare it to it feels balanced, I die frequently and equally from all varieties of weapons and abilities. I'm gonna stick wiv it til I find the method that suits me, until then u lot will enjoy lots of points from my many many deaths :p

1 ReplyAll about head shots dude. Just like halo. Shot to the head drops the shield, there are enough bullets in an auto rifle clip to take down 3 guys as long as you are giving head shots.

I don't understand why everyone keeps complaining about the pvp. It's balanced! More balanced than any cod by far. The only game that even comes close to how balanced and all around fun this game is, is halo 3. I haven't enjoyed matchmaking this much since halo 3. Shoot this is the only game I don't mind getting assists in! Oh and like everyone else has said.. Get good ya lil noob!!
