Patch Crucible Loot System?

EDIT: Thanks for the answers. I've never worked with a RNG based loot system before, and with all the alleged accounts of "bad" players getting good loot, I was confused as to what was actually going on. After playing many games in Crucible and drawing a statistic survey from fellow gamers, I can confirm that the Crucible loot system is in bad shape. It's not broken, but it does need to be fixed to an extent. Hear me out. From what I have noticed, the loot system in Crucible is still random. However, 9 times out of 10 it seems that the worse you are, the better your chances of receiving good loot. I have played games where I pull off a 20 kill streak, yet the player at the bottom going 2 and 16 received a Legendary Engram while I was given nothing. After discussing cases like these with other players, I have discovered that it is a common occurrence. If the loot system in Crucible is in any way percentage based, your chance of receiving Rare or Legendary items increases as you go down the scoreboard. This doesn't make any sense. Why give players more incentive to do worse when it should be exactly the opposite? Now, before you complain about my complaining, consider this: I am happy with the game as it is. I'm not asking Bungie to fix this immediately, as I have gotten items here and there while at the top of the leaderboard. What I would appreciate, however, is an answer. How is this loot system based? Do your chances increase the more games you play? Does leaving the game impact those chances in any way? Surely I can't be the only person to realize what is going on? There could me multiple factors that contribute to your chances of gaining loot, I suppose. I feel that as a community, we should devise some sort of solution. If you're okay with the current system, explain why. If not, contribute some ideas to how the issue (if there is one) should be resolved. Any feedback is encouraged! Everyone is allowed their own opinion, after all.

 • The point of the system is to get an overall win. The game will highly reward the winning team. And reward maybe two people on a losing team, more often, none. After the a team wins, or losses they go into their seperate loot algorythm. And from there It is all RNG. It is like this to be approachable to casual players which is most of the game audiance. A percentile are considered hardcore and pro, but the main bulk of any game is casual players. Another reason for the randomness is for matchmaking errors. Sometimes you will have a level 5 who is a pro player tearing through everyone he comes across, normal matchmaking would move that person up to higher ranking levels. Destiny has a little stricter matchmaking rules so by making it so the MVP does not automatically get the best gear, it makes sure you don't have an ecosystem where the "rich get richer" Whether you agree with this or not, I do not care. This is how the system works. The devs have their reasoning, and if you look at it from the matchmaking ecosystem, it makes the most sense with a game of this nature.
