Honestly, it's a type/style of game I didn't fully know I wanted, but have been waiting to play for years now. I used to play MMOs up until about 9-10 years ago, and was playing everything else before that. About age 21-26 I just fell out of love with gaming. Destiny wasn't even on my radar until maybe end of last year/beginning of this year, and the Beta was the catalyst for my interest. That sold me. Everything I love in MMOs (yes, even grinding. You grind in Reality, so...), with an action oriented first-person-view, and a "well manicured" multiplayer. By that I mean, anyone who can't put forth the effort to personally seek out another person to play with them gets deterred, generally. Weeds out the "riff-raff". Do I necessarily feel like self match-making all the time? No. But when I want to play a Strike, like, actually want to, I'll do so as required. I did the match-made Strikes on Venus just yesterday, and I must have interrupted the other two players private time, because they proceeded to AFK, followed by synchronized cliff jumping suicide. I'm glad the important stuff is walled off minorly. /rant I like this game.
