What earns you story rewards?
I've occasionally played through a mission, not died and done (I believe ) fairly well, and yet when the reward table so we up I get no loot at all. I'd like to know what determined whether you get a reward at the end (number of ability kills, orbs of light generated, time to complete mission, etc.) because I CANNOT find any information on this at all

Im having the same issue, I think its a bug but no one at Bungie wants to answer weither it is or not. All day yesterday I kept getting no rewards, even rewards which were necessary to move the story forward. I just did another story and once again I get no reward even though it clearly states armor upgrade I just get the reward boxes all greyed out. I didnt even get the ship reward everyone else seems to have gotten. I didnt get the gate guardian head either which had me stuck unable to proceed.
