Ok, as absurd as this may all sound right now, hear me out. Since Lucus decided to make the Force microscopic with midichlorians and all that jazz, a little theory popped into my head about the birth of Anakin.
In The Phantom Menace, Anakins mother explains that he had no father, that she randomly got prego and gave birth while never actually having sex. Later on, Qui-Gon suggest that he was conceived by the midichlorians-thus speaking towards that Chosen One prophecy that he would destroy the SIth... Moving on to The Revenge of the Sith, during the Opera House scene with Palpatine telling Anakin an old Sith legend, he said that a Sith lord had the power to use the Force on the midichlorians--to create life. The whole conversation banters back and forward the suggestion that Palpatine may or may not know this power (and we never see it).
But what if! What if, Palpatine did know this power, and influenced the birth of Anakin--while unknowingly fulfilling the prophecy which leads to his own demise.
What do you think of this theory?

Yeah the whole thing was just the influence Anakin to join the Dark SIde, but myah... Myah is say!!! MYAH!!!!

For a while I mistook Palpatine for Padme...
-
Incorrect. It was Darth Plagueis that created Anakin when he bad touched the force.
-

It was Darth Plagueis.

No joke; read the book. It explains that whole situation with Anakin.

Edited by Citadel Space: 9/12/2014 5:06:47 PMI thought it was Darth Plagueis that did this.
-
Pretty sure it was Darth Bane's experiment with the Force that led to his immaculate conception. Or at least that's what I read. God, why the -blam!- did Lucas have to try turn Vader into Jesus? In the OT he was just an SS officer analogy, the Himmler to the Emperor's Hitler.
-
Hmmmm...I like it. Doesn't seem too chosen-oney to me though.

Weirdness intensifies.

You do know that this is what happened, right?

Makes sense to me!
