Hey, what happened to Mercury!?!

So I just finished the Destiny story, and while it was a lot of fun, I was disappointed in a few ways. Aside from the fact that it feels more like prologue than anything else, I noticed that you don't get to visit Mercury at all in the campaign! If you don't know what I'm talking about, Mercury was shown briefly in the E3 2013 Gameplay Trailer towards the end of the video, at 2:13; all we saw was a glimpse of the player's ship flying towards a city on the surface of Mercury, with the sun taking up the entire sky in the background. Since Bungie never talked much about Mercury, I though it might be the site of the final battle in the campaign or something; no Patrols or Strikes, just maybe one last story mission to conclude the campaign. But Mercury doesn't appear in the game at all. Still, that brief glimpse in the trailer has to mean something. Was Mercury cut from the final game? Or will it featured in future DLC? The planet was mentioned in the Story by the Ghost; he says the Vex control it, and converted the entire planet into some kind of machine. If the Vex are in control, then I'm guessing it won't appear in The Dark Below (which features the Hive) or House of Wolves (which features the Fallen). What do you guys think? Can anyone from Bungie she some light on this? Maybe just a hint?
