Was looking at the webstore and found that the PS3 copy was listed as free, as it should've be since I preordered.
After that I purchased the PS3 copy, and after few seconds of refreshing the page, the PS4 was showing as free too.

Take it with a grain of salt, but using the Sony customer support it seems that the purchase of the PS4 one actually give you access to the PS3 versione as well from:

1 ReplyIt's been a bit of a farce but I've finally got the PS4 version. In the end I had to buy the already purchased PS3 version (for free) and that then made the PS4 version free to download. Before that it said that I couldn't download the PS4 version because I already owned it (but it wasn't in my library or download list). All sorted now, just waiting for the "Transferring Game Content" part to finish which does seem to be taking a long time even on my 50mb broadband so I presume it's just busy server side. Thanks for all the support and comments everyone.

I already called sony but their customer support told me to call Activision instead. Who should I refer this problem to?

3 RepliesI really wish that had been on the main upgrade page. I'll be honest, I bought the PS3 version because it was £5 less than the PS4 version but I wouldn't have bothered if I had known that I'd have to wait a day or so to be able to play the "free" PS4 version. It looks like the opening section is the same as the Beta so I'll just play on the PS3 for now and hope that all of my progress is indeed carried over to the PS4 version when it's available to download.
