I got an email from GameStop the other day telling me that since I preordered Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, I get a code for an exclusive "Blacksmith" armor shader in Destiny. However, the code is not recognized when I try to redeem it on Xbox.com or in the store on my Xbox One… I even got a new code from the store, and the same thing happened with that one. (I tried again after waiting a few days too, in case the code didn't get activated right away, but no luck there either)
Is it possible the code will only be active to redeem once Destiny is out and my preorder has shipped? The staff at the store had no knowledge of this, they seemed to think it would work right away. This perk looks really cool and I don't want to miss out on it!

Same thing is happening to me on PS4, I'm waiting until the game releases before starting to worry though.

Same here, actually. Calling the store soon.

I haven't seen the code but if it's 9 characters long try redeeming it in the code portal.

I am having the exact same problem on my PS4, if perhaps you do find out the reason could you please inform me when you do? Ill do the same for you if i find out....

I got the code and entered it onto my xbox account. It recognized the code and is now apart of my account. When the game launches, just go into your download history and download it to your system

Same, just wait until release I suppose. Must be time sensitive.

Edited by Fox: 8/30/2014 8:42:17 PMEdit: I believe you're right.
It may be that you have to wait until the Destiny is officially released (midnight, 9/9). Edit: Otherwise try the Bungie redemption code page too. But I believe its just the former. http://www.bungie.net/sr/User/coderedemption Edit2: It cannot be redeemed there. So I'll stick with my first answer.
*my answer from the last thread.
