Confirmed: Servers open by the 9th for everyone.

So it is confirmed that people who have their copy of Destiny will be able to play on the 9th at 12 am their time-zones. This is spectacular news seeming I am Australian. So happy that I don't have to wait 15-17 hours after I get my copy.
Everyone let out your sighs of relief and cheers of joy!
Edit 1: it seems that people keep talking about the last 2 sentences in the reply from Deej. I think people don't realise that he is saying that the servers wont be broken on the 9th but the stores will be from the amounts of people coming in to them.
[spoiler]it's a play on the fact that lots of games recently have had day 1 server issues[/spoiler]

Servers being live has nothing to do with when you can play , servers will be live at the absolute latest 12.01 am 9/9/2014 in the first place on earth to see 9/9/2014, when the psn store or and dairy or shoe shop or drug dealer on the corner anywhere in the world decides to sell unlock or give you a digital copy/physical copy you can play how is tht hard to understand? I live in New Zealand so il be on before most I would imagine I can't be bothered checking time zones

I secured my pre-order g/edition Friday night. Not concerned about who starts when cause how quickly we forgot the "Nightmare On gta Street!! On launch, so in saying that, don't believe that will happen. It's intentional that when the say Launch on 9/9 @ 9 pst goes live BUT certain regions get em first. Besides you can't have Destiny go LIVE globally in a instant, that would rip a hole in time!! Or maybe a wormhole?

Yeah, but for a matter of fact I just finished this Facebook Quiz from the official Destiny page and when I was done it said that the winner(s) would get their copy one day early and would get to "fight the invaders" before everyone else... so what does that mean?

5 RepliesIt would be very smart of Sony to come out with a statement that says if you pre ordered and pre loaded via PSN, you can play at 12:00 am UTC+14:00. This will send a flock of people to cancel their GameStop orders and purchase via PSN.

The psn store thing is very interesting tho, I can't see why thy shouldn't release at the earliest time zone, I guess it would be a massive sales pitch I mean ppl would buy ps4 just so they could get the first access, if you live in New Zealand don't be surprised if you can't play for roughly 18 hours after release , in my experience New Zealand is of very little concern when it comes to service.

11 RepliesI still think a lot of people are confused about this. From what the this post says, as soon as it hits 12:01 9/9/14 somewhere on Planet Earth the Destiny Servers will be live. The servers have one time it works of not multiple time zones. If you have a copy of the game from this point onwards you can start to play Destiny. So this means people in Europe/America can play Destiny 8/9/14 IF! they have a copy of the game and it is 9/9/14 somewhere on Earth. Retailers will sell Destiny in your country when it is midnight 9/9/14 in that country and no sooner. So if you're lucky to have your copy of Destiny on the 8/9/14, you can play Destiny as soon as the Servers go live 9/9/14 in China/New Zealand no matter where you live. Let's see what happens when Destiny finally goes live. I for one can't wait!

4 RepliesHow is everyone so thick headed to mess this up so hard that multiple threads and polls and countless questions are still flooding the forums? Basically, when you grab your copy of Destiny at midnight, and go home to play it, the only thing you have to wait for is the install time then you are golden! (unless you digitally downloaded it sooner). There is no waiting for the east cost or West cost or China to be September 9th, for the love of God.
