This isn't COD or Halo I get it but even [b]Boarderlands[/b] had its own private match system man
Anyone to dismiss this straight away you're an idiot [b]custom games[/b] are a thing that should actually be considered, it doesn't have to fall under that title but the option to play with just friends and not anyone random should be there.
I never get annoyed at games 'cause at the end of the day it's just a game but I have waited so long for this and my hopes have been shattered with in a matter of seconds. [b]:'([/b]
Now to find out theres no custom games? What? Isn't this supposed to be a game for everyone?
This game has somehow managed to win [i][u][b]Best Multiplayer[/b][/u][/i] with the maximum of [u][b]6 game types[/b][/u] and only [u][b]1[/b][/u] of them being an [u][b]objective game type[/b][/u].
I get where Bungie was going with this, they wanted everyone to focus on the story and yes it looks amazing but there is only so much shooting bots and casuals in multiplayer I can do, my escape from that would be a custom game. I can play with friends that are of the same skill level and organise scrims with other teams from other forums and it would be a great way for the competitive scene to thrive, also whilst being out of the way of anyone who hates us. (competitive players)
Even custom games themselves can offer other sub-communities the chance to thrive all under one title ([b]Zombies, Fat Kid, Mike Myers, Machinima ect[/b]) but instead you've chose to cater to casual players who are probably gonna either sell Destiny or wait until the next one releases, I really don't get it though you could have offered us a custom lobby that ties in with the story where guardians go to practice for the crucible and it would make sense.
Once I have done everything I need to do with this game I won't feel the need to play it any more and as you said you can only complete the story mode so many times so how repetitive is it going to get? I'm so disappointed man hopefully they add something in the future I think they'd be stupid not to.
This game might have the most pre-orders but how many of them are actually interested in this community or have ever even looked on the forums, c'mon man help us out here we love this game and just want it to be the best it can be.

Edit: I swear half of the people that read this haven't read this thoroughly enough, you say it doesn't fit in with the story? Why can't it? It doesn't have to have the title "custom games" could be something like "training grounds [i]where guardians practice for the crucible and the wilderness no xp gained[/i]" or something stupid like that something simple that easily ties in with the story line. Seriously how can't you see that there is such an easy solution to make everything make sense.
Edit: Bungie said tell us what you want, so I'm telling them. If you can't gather that from this post then you're an idiot, I know it's supposed to be a growing world and it's not the final game yet Jesus if I didn't know a thing about the game I wouldn't be posting on the forum you're simply stating the obvious.

2 Replieswhoa whoa whoa! don't blame us casuals custom games are fun for everyone from the hardcore organizing clan matches all the way to the casuals fencing in pikes or mid range having a free for all on big map with just 3 friends all agreed only to use snipers I feel the same way about custom games as I do about raid MM if people don't like they don't have to play the content that way and doesn't affect them in anyway but those who do are happy that they have the chose to play either way they wish to adding pointless restrictions never helps a game last unless its concerning glimmer/XP/loot farming which by definition isn't a useless restriction

13 RepliesI actwally need this so i can bribe some friends to organize a match, get high kdr once and never do PvP ever again so shitty elitist will not weed me out of PvE content for the reason i don't like PvP Anyway obviusly abusable in a game where match will generate drop that improve your character Maybe we'll get something limitad in that regard but i feel it's not primary for bungie atm

I agree that we need custom games this will allow people to create tournaments. Or just allow casual matches between friends to see who is best. Or see who works the best together in fire teams. Could be used for clan training as well. So if it's not added with the game I hope it's added within a month. Or we might see a similar thing to titanfall where it lost a lot of players because it didn't have custom games. Hopefully they add it with no restrictions titan fall made it so you need to have at least a 3v3 to play custom I hope destiny has it but allows you to do 1v1 or even 1v6 if you want. As for people saying it doesn't fit the story neither did Spartans in halo killing each other we still did it. So that's not an excuse. This is a reasonable thing to want to add to a game and it would benefit the game.

I actually agree with you. I cannot understand a reason why they wouldn't bring these things to the table. Private matches can easily be separate from leveling up and receiving weapons/armor, and I see ZERO other reasons this wouldn't work.

What bugs me the most is that bungie has stated numerous times that destiny is first and foremost a shooter, not an MMO. Then they pull this.

2 RepliesI dont see what the big deal is? You can form your whole team as you wish. No you cant make your own match and run around and dick off. Or you cant fight friends vs friends. Some things must be sacrificed for the style of the game. Its not supposed to seem like you just logged onto a game, they want it to be as immersive as possible. Organizing such things on such a scale wouldnt make sense. Imo.

I agree with OP I also wouldn't mind seeing custom crucible matches being an achievement. Example, once you reach a high enough level or rank of the crucible in match making, you are awarded "crucible master" or something and are now capable of hosting private crucible matches/custom games.

So no one will listen. Why don't you post a constructive post in the feedback forum, asking DeeJ if they are considering private matches, pick out the good points of this post and list why you think it would be a good idea. Maybe throw in a poll. You have more of a chance of a reply rather than calling people idiots and your post being lost in the amount of abusive replies you'll recieve.

This game is delivered as a Pseudo-MMO. They want the world to be shared with everyone, PvP included. Hence why the PvP itself is woven into the main story arc. You can't have your own private world separate from the shared world, it doesn't fit. Not to mention that's unneeded server usage, because suddenly everyone will want to just play by themselves which defeats the purpose of the game style. Even with no xp or items enabled, once getting max level and gear that becomes irrelevant. WoW and other MMO games don't have private servers where you can explore everything on your own, but that doesn't stop people from making their machinimas. You're only as limited as you limit your own imagination. Further down the line I can maybe see a possibility for private PvP matches, but a private world server? That's a bit of a stretch, and I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

I don't have enough real life friends that play something like Halo anymore. So I would be limited to spamming invites to randoms, recent players, forums, etc. The type of people I would get from this would all want to play those stupid -blam!-ing zombie gametypes. I don't want customs for that reason. Long story short. Bungie and your opinions on this subject have lead us to this BS path we are on now. Wanna play raids, be prepared to fit a VERY specific role. Wanna play this, be prepared to put up with some BS. Wanna play Custom Games, be prepared to do alot of spamming, planning, and at the end of the day, you still won't get to play what "YOU" wanted to play. That's basically the scenarios that Bungie is leaving us with. Because they are too -blam!-ing lazy to give all of us, the proper tools to cater to ourselves and our needs. And then we get a bunch of assholes on this forum defending them for it. IE. I am not just another brick in the wall, I am not part of the majority. I AM AN INDIVIDUAL Cater to the individual and you cater to the majority. Cater to the Majority and you -blam!- over the individual.
