Do Esports count as real sports?

So Esports. They are probably the most controversial thing to happen in the gaming community in like a decade. I personally can't stand them but I don't mind having competitive gaming. Basically what I'm trying to say is I don't think there should be large cash pool at the end of a match but instead gamers should be satisfied with the victory and recognition like they used to have instead of trying to be all super MLG competitive players. And what further makes me annoyed with Esports is that I see people saying they are 'athletes' for playing a video game. And if someone tries to counter the argument and say that chess is a sport so why can't games be I barely agree with the idea of that but at least chess has the same rules and layout for a century or more instead of games which have only been present for like 5 years.

 • Disclaimer: Opinion Below There's nothing wrong with winning a cash prize for your gaming superiority, If I was "Pro" enough to par take I would, but still isn't a real sport to me. Then you have things like Chess & Nascar that don't seem real "Sporty"? but are considered those... I don't know anymore.
