Now that you know what a beta is.
Stop asking for your gear to be saved. Your gear will be be obsolete in 2 hours when you're 3 levels higher, and have picked up common gear that makes your rare look like scraps.
Stop with "they owe us". They don't. I'd like to believe they appreciate us, but they called it beta. They didn't trick you into spending all of your time on the game. They allowed you to have a taste. Don't be so ungrateful.
I didn't spend an insane amount of time on the game so I respect it may be difficult for me to fully empathize however I knew it was a beta. I made plans. I went outside. It was beautiful. Just like the full version of the game is going to be when I close the shades for a week and destroy the darkness.

I got a ton of the epic Iron Banner bling, a emblem for each guardian I have, full uncommon armor and weapons, at least two pieces of blue armor for each guardian and several also blue/rare weapons, as well as Timur's Lash from the Iron Banner rare drops. Let it be known. I wouldn't mind starting off fresh again. The fun if this experience was EARNING these badass items!

The problem is partially on Bungie's end. As I hear it told, at some point they were asked if Beta stuff would transfer; they responded "we haven't decided." That's the last thing we've heard from them on the matter, and they've just watched as threads like this one and its opposites fill the forums. The fact is that they gave people hope that things [i]might[/i] carry over, rather than giving a flat-out 'no' to shut that hope down. And then there's the matter of Exotic/Legendary/whatever gear being available to players. You could use the whole "testing drop-rates" thing, I guess. You could also use the "giving us a taste of what's to come" argument. But making it possible for people to get the Exotics that they hyped up so much and then tearing them away is a bit cruel, especially after the aforementioned point of letting people get hopeful. It would have been better if they were never available in the Beta at all, drop-rates be damned. And of course there are idiots who legitimately feel they're owed something when they're not. I enjoyed the Beta, and I'm grateful I got the chance to play. I don't believe Bungie [i]should[/i] let us keep our loot, and I sure don't feel like the [i]have to[/i]. But I think it would be one of those cool gestures to the community that makes Bungie special.

6 RepliesExactly, it took half an hour to get to level 8. Besides, from the sound of it, legendaries and exotics were way to easy to come by anyways, if that many people snagged them up in this limited time. Wipe it all, it's not a big deal.

LOL so as YOU say: if in two hours i can get new gear and forget about the one that was saved. Easy, Why don't they transfer our content? Haha i'm kidding, i finally admit to erase my char, i just want my appearance to be saved so i dont waste time editing my char in the release date.

I played the shit out of the beta with absolutely no hope of anything transferring over. It was just a hell of an experience that I'd been waiting for since they first announced Destiny years ago.

8 RepliesDo people not realize that we were given XP boosts to get to level 8 faster? Transferring that progress wouldn't work. Also, the missions may be slightly altered, items may be removed, or changed. Any number of changes could have happened that make our beta items and progress obsolete. Also, when playing the full game you may just get better items, or have a better time. Just play it again. Not a big deal. If you love the game, you should be happy to experience it again.

It'd be cool if we kept our progress because from a lore point of veiw we already started our journey and have come back from death and the new players who picked it up will just be beginning for their legend and that would be a good way of looking at it.

6 RepliesA lot of people worked hard to request off and make time during the beta. Why not let them keep their stuff, if only for sentimental value. Like you said, the level 8 stuff will be obsolete after a while, so why not just let people have their beta progress?

I don't care at all about my gear only my guardian, just let me keep my guardian and their personal stuff such as their equipment and skills. That's all I really want to be carried over.

Edited by OHE84: 7/31/2014 10:30:36 AMI have no problem with not getting anything transfered to the real game :P I put in over 110 hours total on the beta, and had some nice loot that I put in the vault just in case theywould come with it as an suprise...but did I have high hopes for that to hapen ... nope...uz it was as stated... a beta, I see a hole bunch of ppl almost going balistick around here that wants they're gear transfered over...why ?? I am #187 in playtime on the beta as far as I can see, but why whine about it...when the game releases it's gonna be just as you say, it's gonna be obsolete the moment you lvl higer, and by lvl 10 - 15 you will have a hole new set of standards of weapons and armor you want to get you're hands on anyways :P
