After seeing constant posting and feedback. Someone has to say it.
You only played to level 8!
Everyone freaking out about beta carry over. Some assault rifle is op in pvp. All that stuff.
Level 8.
All this beta carry over complaining. You all realize it took 3 hours tops to hit level 8. So all this gear you "need" when you hit level 10 will become meaning less to you.
All of the "this particular assault rifle needs to be nerfed." What possible reason would bungie have to adjust the damage on a level 8 uncommon weapon?
It would seem if the max level is indeed 20 that is where the game should be judged. Worry about carry over when you actually have something worth carry over (Yes iron banner stuff excluded). Balance issues will be adjusted at level 20.
People need to quit acting like it's the end of the world because they are losing a low level character with low level gear. When you hit level 20 you will have long forgotten about all this stuff you "need" carried over.
Enjoy that you are excited about the game. Enjoy your character meant something to you. Enjoy that come September you can play without limitation.

Well I played the beta a lot. Had my vault and character filled with items. I don't care about that stuff. Or my ship. Having glimore and vanguard an crucible marks transfer over would be nice. Now what would have been nice is inventory. The 70+ weapon parts, the almost 300 spin metal etc. none of the inventory stuff would give anyone a huge advantage same with the glimore. I can see character and weapons armor and vanguard and crucible marks giving people an advantage. Slightly. Maybe they day will come where games will reward players more for playing the beta then just a few skins or emblems. But currently that's the norm. Also not every game does a beta. By no means am I complaining. Only makes me want to work harder to get gear. Playing the beta alone gave me an advantage because it's not like the game really changed that much people.

I don't care about my character but I'm worried about the fact that I got this thing called ether seeds and I want to know if they are common or rare

Edited by heisenburg6969: 8/24/2014 9:47:58 PMLeveling up is not the same as in the beta the exp we received was boosted and the drop items were boosted to a high drop percent leveling and attaining good shit is going to be a lot different
-
Your not the only one to say this I've said it as well and so have a lot of other people its just no one cares they rather yell scream and cry because it's apparently more fun.
-
Still. I found a lot of Ghosts and shit

we only played to level 8 for real....that's not even close to level cap, and leveling was accelerated as well, and there will be more events and such in the final game, and if anyone doesn't understand the leveling system that link up there explains it. so please stop complaining about losing your beta progress,
-
I agree man everyone is getting upset that their character is not going to carry over , but what they don't realize is that the playing and hording or weapons and gear just lets bungie know that people really care about the game and that they can build better and more special weapons and gear....for those of you out there complaining just realize your play in the beta makes you want more. The fact that when the game comes out in September it will not only captivate you but also are you forgetting the amazing story they must have built for the campaign?!?!?! Just calm your anger down and rejoice for a kick ass game come September!!!! Peace bungie fans peace

Well said I WANT to restart play the game as it's supposed to be played from the start
-
Well said I WANT to restart properly no xp boosts in full game without bugs in pvp I said same thing in a post and got fan boy hate
-
Just an FYI. Xp was "accelerated" during the beta. It may take longer to reach lvl 8 and higher. I found some rare and legendary gear so a carry over would be nice but if there isn't oh we'll I'll find them again.
-
I have rare gear to use!!! I spent hours getting that stuff and I want to be able to use it!
-
Level 20, by the way, is far from the cap.
-
soft level 8 cap, you could level up skills to what, level 15 I think?
-
Well said, well said.
-
Agreed. But it would be cool if I got to keep my cape, as it doesn't effect gameplay. A short, tattered, bloodied cape that looks like it's seen a lot. That and ships would be the only things I think should carry over: things that are purely visual and don't affect gameplay.
-
I agree, and ill wipe myself and start over either way. I wonna play it all over for fun.
-
All the more reason to let us carry over what we got. if it whould be a big gap you whould have a point asking to Raven out but since it's not big deal what's the problem. In my case it's emozionale value to the good main weapon i grinded 26 in game h to get and used for just 2. Nothing gamebreaking. Nothing uber. So why not let us carry it over?

Edited by High Charity: 8/5/2014 4:56:50 PMEven so, some weapons should not had a clear advantage in every situation, despite the fact that the levels were lowered (I'm looking at you, AR). What's the point of having other weapons when there is no weapon balance going up to level 8? Sure we don't know how its going to be at higher levels, and maybe it will balance out, but as of now, at the levels we've seen, it does not.
-
This is an interesting point you have made. However, I believe it's not just about the gear. Level 8 is quite a significant level as it is nearly half of the max cap so many people put in at least some effort to get to this level especially if they had more than 1 Guardian. Also, some people found quite valuable gear which took them time and effort to find or purchase and it seems a waste and cheat to just have that completely taken away from them. I know that it would be out levelled eventually but that doesn't take away it's level of rarity or the amount of time someone put in to get it.

Edited by Lupin: 8/5/2014 1:45:16 PMGood point

In regards to the Auto Rifle, you realize that in The Crucible all weapons are evened out. So a lvl 20 Auto Rifle bears no difference to a lvl 8 Auto Rifle. The only time there will be differences is in Iron Banner. ARs need a slight damage nerf.
-
Even though the lvl cap will be at 20 I think when the final game is released maybe....just maybe there might be some dlc or an update raising the level cap higher than 20.......think about it.
-
you do realize that the beta was set at over twice the normal leveling speed right?
-
Carry over or not I'm starting over anyways, just feels like it'd be more fun
