A Tower Statue for the Lost Guardians
So I saw this on another forum by a guy named gizmohex and I believe it's totally fair and reasonable. It was on a thread in witch people were not happy about the beta reward, and instead of just being another person shouting for special gear he offers an idea that is the best I've heard. To make a statue in the tower that has three generic guardians on it and it says to all the beta testers who inspects it a quote that thanks the testers in a cool way, the main point is this statue would give recognition of the real beta testers. Bring us all together to share or experiences from the beginning And I'm all for that. No stupid armor no, or carry over. A statue for the people that every time the walk by it are reminded of the the community and the connection speed they all share with the game. I'm with Gizmohex how about you??
Edit 1: ok so from what I've been seeing in the comments let me put forth another idea
A single statue that has has three generic guardians on it l, one for each class, in some kind of cool pose
On inspection the statue would give a quote that encompasses all the beta testers as a whole, there are some good suggestions of a quote in the comments. This quote would be obvious to beta testers but be dipped in lore from before the game as to not break immersion.
Edit 2: as for where it could go there's trees that serve no purpose and or areas of the game not in use by September it's hard to say where to put it cause I haven't seen the final build.
Edit 3: the appearance of the statue would best be served with a circle base and each guard facing out in equal degrees of distance. So that no class is over shadowed and no one feels left out sitting by this epic statue
Edit 4: the quote I came up with and I thought sounded as if it came from all of us went something like this
"There has always been heros, those from the past and now, the men at your sides.
We stand here together, because of the fallen brethren that paved the way.

It would be cool if it had your name on, It could generate say 16 random names from the list of beta players, But if someone in the tower lobby played the beta it would update to make sure their name is on it. It obviously couldn't be a memorial then. It would have to be something like a list of people that received the "beta commendation" or something. Also I'd go for one statue with all three classes on so you're not on a class statue you didn't play as.

3 RepliesThat's a great idea! I still want some cool armor/weapons that are exclusive to beta testers but the statue would be sick. Only thing would be the hassle of finding your name, but I'm sure it'd be worth it

However, let there be a statue that represents all the guardians that die during global takeover events or something of that nature where it involves every player on Destiny. It will tell you their kills, deaths, and other statistics of that nature. Those that survive these events, with no deaths, will get a special reward in order to show they are survivors in the war for the frontier.

I agree with you completely! This would be a great addition to the tower, maybe even a reference to the halo series for the quote,like this "They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten".

2 RepliesAnother idea is they could have an older looking NPC character sitting on the statue base that talks about the old war heros that made this city what it is today. Side note: I really hope they allow use to walk through the city and not just the tower.

I like the idea of a tribute statue, but feel it should be something more than a tribute to the Guardians. A statute to honor all of humanity would seem more appropriate. Having a tribute to all the peoples of earth who have been lost in the past that reflects why we are here as Guardians.........who we are here to protect. Though we do fight to regain what is ours, we do need to remember all who have been consumed by the darkness in the past.

This would stand as a tribute and an awesome reminder of what was and what has come to be. As for where these statues could go, I'm suggesting around the tower as individuals open to for all the public to see and all facing towards the traveller as guardians, with a special set of three standing within the halls of the Iron Clad. Yet another could be done for the alpha testers we will be fortunate to meet. These two sets of three could then stand lining the hallway of the Iron Clad and would stand on opposite sides of each other.

Otherwise why not have the speaker tell of our story a world of guardians who paved the way, found the light in all that was darkness and gave hope to those who had gone so long with it.

Awesome idea gives the beta testers something to be proud of personally I don't care for anything they give to the beta testers like a piece of armor or an emblem I'll end up getting rid of it within a week that statue though would make the beta testers feel accomplished
