I hear rumors there's only 1 explorable location per planet confirmed by DeeJ, but that's incorrect
When DeeJ said himself "We're calling them DESTINATIONS, you go to Mars, you go to the Moon, you go to Venus, you got Earth." Do we go outside the solar system? "Not so far... we reveal everything you'll explore in the first version of the game."
Where does this confirm only one explorable location for each planet?
Anyone ever notice that when you're viewing the map of old Russia there is a circle to the left with 3 smaller orb objects inside the circle that look like the Earth, and it looks like it has the rotate symbol indicating you can choose to pick a different map. Also, did anyone forget the rusted land map from the crucible? That map is NOT from Old Russia, but from the Eastern Flood Zone.

Look at the bottom it clearly says Eastern Flood Zone, Earth, confirming at least 2 different locations on Earth.
People are too quick to jump the gun.
UPDATE: Here you go, this is posted by Bungie, clearly shows locations outside Old Russia

If memory serves me right Bungie said there would be 3 to 4 expansion packs coming out that's not including the two they announced already.

1 ReplyTwilight Gap today showed us that these other locations are more than likely crucible maps or something similar. I also think there is obviously more to Old Russia than we've seen. Even if there are only 5 explore areas at launch, I'm fine with that. They would be big enough to have fun in, that's for sure.

People may want to look at this if they think that database is a reliable source. http://destinydb.info/locations/places Before anyone points it out that Mercury is a crucible map, notice how the Vex is mentioned in the description. This suggests to me that we'll be fighting the Vex on Mercury. This picture also suggests we will be headed to Mercury outside of the crucible since that shot isn't one we've seen so far during the Crucible intros. http://i.imgur.com/BnZVUu1.jpg I also implore you to observe the location seen in this video at 4:49 . This is clearly not Old Russia, as the Traveler cannot be observed in Old Russia. I also find it unlikely to be the Twilight Gap crucible map, after watching IGN's recent tour of the map, no such cliff seems to be there. While I doubt there will be more than one location per planet, it is still something to thing about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRRKtkuOeig#t=299 In my humble opinion, you are likely correct in the assumption that we shall only have 23 story missions. But I feel that Saturn, Mercury and possibly Europa will be opened up to explore after the story has finished, since they have often stated that there will be plenty to do once the story is finished.

8 RepliesI saw the quote if I could find it I would link it. 4 planets one destination for game release, very clear. I hope I am wrong but don't want others disappointed if they are wrong. That doesn't mean that we won't get other places on Earth, just will be in expansions, not release. Those pictures could be from the expansions cause I am sure they are close to done with them if not done, they have 2 DLCs promised. And if all other explorable areas are as big as Old Russia I think that is big enough for a FPS release in my opinion. Now my speculation, just going by intelligent guessing and if anybody knows otherwise I would like to hear. That each planet, like Earth, will have at least 5 story missions and at least 1 strike mission. If that were true that would give us 14 story levels we haven't played yet. Wouldn't surprise me if there were more.

Yeah looks like 3-4 destinations on earth at least. They even describe them on that page. Pretty sure the moon is the smallest. I've heard that. But I bet the other planets will be similar to earth. Not to mention they always have twists in the story that we don't know about yet. They love that. Remember Halo CE? Not a wprd about the Flood. It was a total suprise.

Today on IGN First, they did a walkthrough of the Twilight Gap (located on the City Perimeter) and it showed a view of the Traveler similar to this one. It doesn't seem like they are sitting down in the middle of a crucible match, so this leads me to believe we will be able to explore the City Perimeter as well as the Cosmodrome.

So this means that Old russia is merely a location right? and they never confirmed the amount of locations in a given destination. right? so could there be more than just one location in a destination? Correct me if I'm wrong with sources and evidence please.

3 RepliesOne huge location is great. When the moon was open I got completely lost in the lower depths for almost the entire time after doing the mission the first time through. If there are 3 or four other worlds that are that big and deep, I'd say my $99 was a great investment. No telling how many countless hours of joy I'll get out of this. Heck, CoD Ghosts cost $100 for the maps and everything and they're combined probably not as big as Destiny will be from day 1.

2 Replies4 planets = Earth, Venus, Mars, Moon (even though the moon is not a planet. 1 destination is probably referenced to the wrecked ship orbiting Saturn's belt. People are probably misinterpreting this as only one destination to explore per planet because of the way they described the orbiting ship as a "destination" huge ship with explorable map but not a planet. What do you think?

Some of the other destinations are simply PvP maps. The PvP maps are not ripped from existing portions of large maps, that has already been stated by Lars Bakken in one of the IGN map reveals.

1 ReplyDid you guys see that when playing on the moon it said "Earth's Moon" ? I think every planet got it's explorable location and every planet got a moon (Titan, Europa etc.) so we may get another explorable location for each planet on the planet's moon

I am really hoping that the Earth has more locations, but the picture you show us of Rusted Lands to support your idea of this Eastern Flood Zone location, literally has an Old Russia Cosmodrone symbol on one of the buildings.

It's more then possible it's word play 'Destinatons' could refer to planets,moons or other places that contain 'zones' or 'areas' and the wording just got mistaken.

3 RepliesTo be fair, it could be a real misunderstanding on what DeeJ said. Let's wait for The Powers that Be, to tell us more so. Because if they haven't noticed the internet blowing up about all this stuff, the datamined and DeeJ's words, they are really...behind. Bungie needs to do some damage control though. Everything that was datamined, was done some through the beta version. Even the owner of the website said it was subject to change.
