From what I heard a map is not part of the program. I personally liked it. I know not everyone will agree with me, but I think learning your environment is a valuable skill. I knew that place like the back of my hand by the time I was done, but I put in the time to do it. 20hrs 32 mins Hunter, 8hrs 26mins Warlock, 16hrs 52mins Titan. Investing time into your environment is a valuable experience. I knew almost every nook of that place and never needed a map. Explore your world. If you need a map make one yourself. Be better than you are today, and I know you can do it. I really hope they don't give us a real time map. If anything a nice map of the area that is in the app that you can use as reference would be cool, but I don't see the value in holding everyone's hand. No map means you have to explore, get lost, and experience interesting things. I see opportunity. Someone like me will know the lay of the land and those who don't will wander.
