*Gets 9.33 k/d ratio in Iron Banner*

0.33 k/d ratio teammate gets legendary. Oh ok. I know bads should have a chance at getting good gear too, but the top player should pretty much be guaranteed to get an item. It leaves a bad taste, no matter how you look at it. They were detrimental to the team, yet they got a legendary. What. Worst player in the team should have incredibly low chances of getting an item, especially a legendary. Right now, there is no incentive for people to try to get better. Too many times have I seen people mess around in pvp without going for kills or control points. In First Light, I've seen people go afk at the edge of the map on the right side of Point C, they never die, never get kills, never capture, but they were in the match, so they have a chance to get a legendary.

  • The amount of idiots spamming this thread with crap like "QQ more" is too high. You guys DO realize I'm just giving feedback on the game, right? Seriously, grow up and give actual arguments as to why the top player shouldn't at least have a slightly higher chance in getting an item over the teammate that aided the enemy team.

    • Once again u guys are thinking about crucible rewards wrong. Their just like hey thanks for playing their not rewards for doing well and winning. Your reward for winning are crucible marks which u can buy gear with. Obviously u need alot but the whole crucible rewards is just something random and extra. All of u self entitled im the best i deserve a reward need to just stop. Your reward for being "the best" is ur bragging rights. Cool u stomped scrubs in a public match who dont know what their doing get over it. Your better than they are and they most likely will always be inferior to you. Thats ur reward. Now i challenge u when given the opportunity try and maintain that K/D against people who know what their doing.

    • I like it as is. Everyone has a chance. Gives people incentive to stay and learn/play the game. You people thinking you deserve something for your kd need a bit of reality. First off, if you went over 3 kills per death then you were almost certainly playing absolute noobs so congrats for going maximum try hard on people that were just starting out. The only time I've seen anyone with something like 9 was where it was 6 vs 2 and kept rushing and spawn camping the 2. Pathetic.

          People keep spouting K/D on a CAPTURE based game. If you went 200 kills and 2 deaths but didn't get an flag capture. You should be in last place PERIOD. Too many games I've lost because people run past unguarded flags because they wanted to snag a freebie kill. The best scoring player should have a better chance of getting good equipment. Not the guy that got 28 kills because he was sitting at the edge of the map sniping while watching his flags get captured

          • I'll be honest, I'm nearly always the MVP and I have 10+ caps every match, yet I barely, if ever, get rewarded. It honestly makes me just go into games and purposefully not do good, because what's the point in doing good if you aren't rewarded?

            • I think it's fine. If you really want to get good weapons, play PvE. As for the Iron Banner, by winning you get rep points for the Iron Banner, giving you access to high level weapons and armor anyway. So in a sense you ARE being rewarded for doing good. If people who "do good" keep getting legendary drops, it turns to a "the good get better" and the bad stay stay bad, and that's not a good thing for PvP. It'll plot the community to "shit buckets with 500 damage ARs and 2000 armor" and" the average player. Keep the loot drop random in PvP, or if people complain so much, just completely remove it.

            • FridgeGnome was here for this One time I went 7.something? With my K/D, along with the most captures, and all 3 lowest players (all negative, least captures) got legendary weapons. We were pretty confused by this

              • 100% agree. I consistently got above a 2.0 k/d and never got good loot. My brother gets two legendary items in his first game with a .2 k/d how does that make sense?

              • From my experience I have seen players get the gear that are lower on the scoreboard. I never seem to get gear for PVP. Normally near the top. Never the bottom.

              • Make it more like counter strike global offence. I mean the reward system. First place is usually always guarantied a reward and then there is one more random. I'm saying change the game just make first place have like a 75% chance of getting a reward.

                • Yea and what do you get for being the best player? All I've seen is the same amount of reputation points for each player and random rewards. It doesn't seem like doing well is rewarded. Other then feeling like a boss, there is no other reason. You don't get more reputation or glimmer. (Do you get Glimmer? I forgot). Anyways, I don't care about the random rewards as much as the fact that you all get the same rep points. I think it should be doubled for the #1 player, especially if your KD is 9.0.

                • It is actually not a reward system fyi it is a random incentive system. The reward is rep with factins for gear, equip, shaders what not. Entitlement is ruining so many games. K/D important. Captures important. Captures make K/D more important. Captures equal bait for more kills and more points per kill so while any game involving competition killing will gain advantage of higher K/D, objectives that enhance and are of benefit themselves are equally if not more so important. Think if team A has 1 flag gaining 125 points per kill and team B 2 flags gaing 250 points per kill then team A must have an effective team K/D of 2.10 to win. Which in effect means if team a wins they were carried by 2 good players or one awesome player given the K/Ds I have seen around. Just my two cents competitive play has many roles people who dig in and defend, people who know how to burn down a camp, movers and shakers running from flag to flag, and I guess even that jerk in the tank who likes to drive in buildings and camp flags. To each their own! Now get out there and make it happen! I promise you are valid.

                • Like others have already said... The random loot is a small way to provide some balance. The spoiled children crying in this thread know this already, and cry loudly in hopes bungie will change position... To be clear, kids who play "all" day long, brag about KD ratios and how much others suck... Can't handle the idea of any sort of level playing field. Because hey, if your not steamrolling, getting all the good gear, running your loud mouth over a mic in a way you would never do in person, whats the point?

                  • These are event legendries, not regular ones why would you even care if everyone and anyone could get em. The point is to play the event and maybe you get the drop. Its a basic mmo thing where if you are in the event there's a chance you get something just for being In it.

                  • Not as bad as your example but I got 2.8 kd (best on my team) and some dude with 0.79 got a legendary. I thought the point of legendaries was to show off how badass you are, not how you got below average kd.

                    • When I first picked up Destiny beta and finally got access the the Iron Banner, I was downright impressed that they had interconnected PvE and PvP in such a way that I had to explore the campaign portions of the game in order to equip myself for multiplayer. That was... until I realized that in its current state it isn't nearly that cut-and-dry. I hate to even say this, but the real problem is even [i]having[/i] random drops from PvP at all. There are just too many variables in a match for that to be viewed by a majority of players as "fair." For example, in a slayer-style match, I might go 11K/2D whilst a teammate of mine may go 27K/28D. He/she obviously went above and beyond what I did as far as completing the objective (Kill the enemy team; i.e. reach the score limit first), but if our team only won that match by two points then it was obviously my contribution that got us the win. Another example: I tend to play FPS games in semi-competitive squads of friends, as I'm sure most of us do. Normally I prove to be quite the capable "slayer" in an objective-based gametype (an undeniably important role to have in a coordinated squad) and it's pre-determined that I will never go out of my way to capture a point or run a flag but that I will keep the enemy as dead as possible while others complete those tasks. Does that mean I'm more or less deserving of a reward than the guy with a boatload of points accumulated from completing objectives that he would've otherwise not completed had it not been for my slaying? Having separate gametypes for "endgame" PvP and actual, balanced PvP is fine, Bungie, and I even kinda like the concept... but PvP equipment rewards, random or otherwise, need to be omitted from your game.

                        It prevents people from taking it way too seriously. Like many in this topic already do. You use a performance-based system, and when people notice they're going to lose, they'll just quit, cause what's the point in staying then. You do get rewarded for playing well. You complete bounties.

                        • Even if they do get a legendary weapon they can't use it. It's the Beta and you can't get up to lvl 20 to use it. I've earned two of the legendary iron banner hand cannons, they look cool in my inventory....
