Pretty big news if true. There have been rumors of this happening previously, but apparently the deal has actually gone through now. Would be a huge get for Google.

Edited by Mystical: 7/27/2014 8:58:33 PM"Your stream has been disabled due to copyright violation" Reason - X developer doesn't want you to stream their game no moar. Thats the future I see on twitch really. Looks bleak. On youtube my gameplay vids get flagged for the most asinine illogical crap. One of my racing games that has no music got flagged for having a soundtrack called: "Chanting Of Navkar Mahamantra", musical composition administered Times Music India Indian Performing Rights Society I went to the time spot it said was copyright and it was just my car's engine going around the track. Such facepalm. If this is the google twitch everyone has to look forward to I am glad I quit streaming a year+ ago then to avoid silly copyright claims getting in the way of streaming. Justin.tv and the early years of twitch used to be cool. Now it's going down the drain. It's no longer about streaming games for fun without money involved. It's all about who earns the most or which 'gurl gaymer' can grab more views sitting on the lobby screen of a game with her boobs hanging out. So lame and I fear google is only going to make twitch more lame. They won't do anything in the interest of gamers, they are only going to maximize profits the best they can. They didn't give away 1 billion dollars to make the place better, it's an investment they hope to churn out ten fold on and if that means saying F U to a few good streamers they could care less. The same way they treat us regular youtuber gaming channels on youtube. "False copyright claims? heh why should we care? we're google and your an insignificant channel anyways, just keep reporting these claims are false and we'll do nothing to fix it". thanks google, thanks so much.

So long Twitch. It was fun while it lasted.
-
Google was getting scared Twitch would actually be a real competition to YouTube so they bought them. That's what I think of all this.
-
*Darth Vader* "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
-
Kind of a shame. YouTube needs competitors, and Twitch seemed like it was on track to be one. Good news for Google though.
-
Great. Now they'll rename it "YouTube+" and shove it down our throats.
-
Well dammit. I guess it'll be called Twitch+ soon enough.
-
Twitch is an amazing site. They'll ruin this with corporate synergy and a top down management approach that fails to understand what made Twitch great. More ads, crappier layout, shut down Saltybets for copyright infringement, make the chats only for Google+ users.
-
I wish Google would just -blam!- off already.
-
-
Shame, but they did get rid of competition. I just hope they don't change the name.
-
Twitch+ confirmed.

Well, it was fun while it lasted, nice knowing you Twitch, RIP. Okay, maybe it's not that extreme, and for a billion dollars there's a long list of things I'd sell but, if nothing else, surely the fact that this is how people are reacting to the concept says something about Google's handling of YouTube? I mean Google's a big company, it's worth a lot of money, this should be good news but no one's seeing it that way, maybe that fact alone with get through to them, who knows?
