I like this game a lot but the PVP

Is not balanced or skill based. Don't sit here and fanboy and try to explain or make excuses as to why you believe it is any competent player can tell it isn't. Constructive feed back: 1. Supers have no place in the mp and are the biggest problem, disable them. There is no way to tell when a player is super charged or not. If there were a very clear aesthetic when there super was ready that other players could be aware of it would be somewhat fair but even then for the warlock and myself included, Titan it's just mash bumpers to win. Maybe a gold halo or sparkles around the player when their super is ready? 2. The sniper rifle damage needs to be lowered roughly 20-30% auto aim needs a severe reduction. I was doming head shots with the Gozen with no effort after 3 games. Head shot damage should remain the same. 3. Reduce auto rifle damage 5-10% buff pulse rifle damage at least 20% and reduce recoil slightly. 4. Vehicles for the most part are incredibly broken. Either a sniper takes them out of the vehicle or a super must come up. At the beginning of the game vehicles reign supreme please add heavy weapon ammo at the start of games on vehicle based maps, it would have such a positive impact on gameplay. 5. Net code seems to be intentionally noob friendly, at close quarters it is near impossible not to trade. Often I melee the person shot gunning me and they die as well. Don't even get me started about meleeing each other, it is almost guaranteed that both players die. Kill delays on many things such as snipers can be up to 3 seconds.. I have never seen this in a game before, ever. It's ridiculous. I do however love the map designs, although moon is over vehicle saturated. The movement mechanics and aiming in this game are some of the best in any FPS I have ever touched hands down. Edit: For good players please message me if you are interested in joining a competitive scene of players I have started a group called Got Gear looking to raid and be the premiere first raiding guild in Destiny. I used to lead 10 and 25 man WoW raids. If this game does somehow turn around it's MP we are looking to compete in tourneys as well.

  • [This is from my post this morning: The Right Way to Play PvP. Discuss.]This is a matter of opinion. After extensive matches and reading everyone's experiences on the Feedback link, I wanted to point a few things out. Please add your own thoughts. 1. Yes, the vehicles on the moon are OP vs someone who is on foot, but they shouldn't be removed. You have at your disposal your Super, grenades, heavy ammo, or some smart shooting to take them out. If you still don't like em, try driving them yourself more often or just stay inside the facility. 2. So you can't turn on a dime or 360 turn? I've noticed it too. Trust me, I hated it at the start, UNTIL I realized that Bungie would rather you focus on strategy than running and gunning. Once I focused on that I did much better and I adjusted how I stopped to look around. 3. Hate how the radar gives away your position? Yeah, that seemed a little annoying at first. But you can see the enemy too! Rather than lurking around hoping to find someone or being surprised by people who know the map better than you, you'll at least have an opportunity to position yourself, select the best weapon for the environment, and hopefully get excited about having a legitimate duel with someone. 4. Still think the Super's should be removed? No no no. One, they help against vehicles. Two, nothing feels better when you get to use it to clear a room of opponents to keep them from capping a position. It can really help swing the momentum around. Here's a hint: don't hold your Super back! I used to only have 1 Super per match but now I use it at least 3 times a match. And it can be strategic for your teammates by leaving orbs of light so they can use their Supers sooner. 5. "But the Titan's Super can't be aimed" and "it needs crosshairs". Well, it can be aimed...eventually. If you check your Titan's Striker sub class upgrades you'll notice its a future upgrade for when you level up past 8. Crosshairs won't be necessary. Be patient and all will be fine. 6. Still feel that other players' weapons are OP compared to yours? Yup, been there. BUT, after a little research you'll find that the Impact of a weapon plays a larger role in PvP than Attack. You might have a lower level weapon with major Impact that you aren't using yet that can help you! 7. Getting crushed in Iron Banner and don't know why? If you've recently joined the BETA and haven't asked around, realize that Iron Banner takes into account your weapons and gears true numbers and upgrades. Bring your best if you want to last. 8. Bummed you can't talk to anyone? Same here! All we can do now is create a fire team before we enter the Crucible, but make sure you do if you want an extra pair of eyes on the battlefield. Keeping posting to Bungie about adding chat. Until then, keep dancing when you cap your position! So, any thoughts? Agree or disagree?[]

    • Well said. Although I believe Supers should stay in the Crucible or else Destiny would just be a Call of Duty clone. Do the supers need to be balanced? Hell yes.

    • Supers really have absolutely no business in PvP. It's not even remotely fair for a guy to just walk into a room and get a guaranteed one-hit-kill against another guy - or multiple other guys - just because he eventually charged up a meter and then hit two buttons. There isn't really time to move or otherwise retaliate. Super moves have no business in competitive PvP and they are single-handedly turning it into broken-ass garbage.

      • Your balancing is lazy and the wrong way to do it. Also Snipers are fine. Auto rifles are too accurate, pulse rifles and hand cannons are absolutely worthless at the moment. If they had kept the vehicle hijacking from Halo 3 the vehicles would be balanced, don't know why they'd get rid of something as important as that. Supers are fine, but the Golden gun is very weak. Warlock/Titan do not take any skill to get 1-4 kills with since invincibility. Hunter takes high skill to get 2-3 kills with since you have to pre use it and predict players movement within a time constraint. The net code from bungie has always been shit, just how it is all the way back to halo 2. Though it is a /special/ kind of bad this time. I've laid in to people only to have them take no damage the entire time kill me then die to my damage.

        • If they keep the super in the game they should make a different charge mechanic. If you are on a dominating team the super charges very quickly because of kills and orbs. It makes an unbalanced game even more unbalanced....and getting killed by supers 3 times in a row isn't fun for anyone.

            • Crucible is great, and it's definitely skill-based. Minor balance issues with auto rifles, but that's all.

            • remember it is only a beta, the lag and delay is typical on betas especially mmo type like destiny. I agree and do think they will be buffing/nerfing many things

            • I agree with everything you said except supers. I think thy should be in the game, but maybe as a killstreak so if you die it resets the meter or something

              • So the trading/kill delays are a little weird and take some getting used to, but everything else seems to balance itself out. Vehicles are a non-factor really, unless you present yourself in open space v a vehicle. Weapon damage is relatively balanced, I'm sure there will be some tweaking behind the scenes before launch. A sniper headshot is always going to be a kill, get used to it.

                  • You just suck. Weapon damage is perfectly fine as it is. If they reduce weapon damage bosses in PvE would take hours to kill. Learn to play better.

                    • PvP not skill based...ridiculous. If it wasn't skill based you'd have a lot more mediocrity, most rounds have people with high k/d's or very low ones. Sounds like you want bungie to customize the game to what you are good at.

                      • I agree with a lot you said however a tank is a Tank....people obviously do not grasp the concept of what a tank is...try going up to an Abrams and shoot it with a pistol, it will ricochet and hit you or else where the vehicle balance is fine people are just upset because they can't solo a tank which is absurd. You have to use team work or your super to bring it down...which seems to be asking too much from people. The auto rifles are the main weapons which are causing the imbalance; nothing else. I was literally getting sniped by auto rifle the cydonia, on the moon and they are ridiculously over powered and need to be nerfed if you say otherwise then you use one and don't want it to change or you simply lack the balls to call it for what it is; broken. My second gripe is the pulse rifle needs some type of buff preferably recoil as the whole point of burst to to conserve ammo and mitigate recoil. Fusion rifles need to have a damage increase slightly as the charge is what makes it frivolous in MP by the second charge you are dead which is dumb especially against an auto rifle you can't even charge it. Obviously there will be better weapons in the game but these foundational characteristics of weapon balance need to be addressed

                            • 1. supers have no place? im sorry, do you want this to be cod/halo? go play those games, supers give variety. 2. snipers are fine, theres no places to actually effectively camp, a sniper needs to be on the move and have a good shot not to die, its fine imo. 3. auto rifles are are ok, ive been killed by them alot but i dont think theyre over powered, i kill half of them using my handcannon. 4. i agree, and they said they are fixing it. 5. i agree, and hope it gets fixed, not really super rage worthy though.
