Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as me.
My PS4 is port forwarded and connected to my router via a LAN cable. According to the PS4 internet connection test I have a Type 2 NAT, which is acceptable and I am content with. However when I play Destiny I get a pop-up bar that says I have a strict NAT and that some features are restricted... I have also noticed that I only come across other players in explore mode very rarely. Am I missing out on content? Should there be lots of people around me to explore with?
If you have had this problem, how did you fix it?
Cheers,
Schoer

The reason for this NAT status is in most cases related to Xbox Ones bad IPv6 implementation. So if you have a fritzbox or something else with activated Teredo-Protocol, just deactivate this option and your NAT status should change. UPnP should also be activated, but in most cases, the issue is related to the activated Teredo-Protocol.

Edited by cmelton33: 12/1/2014 4:09:39 PMI have Nat issues where it doesn't let me talk to somebody either fireteam or party, but if we switch back and forth between the 2 eventually we can hear each other. Edit: I'm on ps4 and connected lan @ 14 mbps. I have not port forwarded yet.

Edited by MightyJonE: 12/1/2014 10:47:51 AMI've had the same problem on PS4 since the beta - strict NAT network warning, yet I have NAT2. However, I've had no problems playing destiny. But bizarrely, I've also played destiny on 360 on the same network and had no strict NAT warning The one problem I do have now on PS4 is that I can't use party chat or destiny ingame voice chat - I get a strict NAT warning in party chat, and a "no mic due to NAT issues" for ingame chat. Yet I had no such chat problem at all during the beta. So why now?

Exact same issue with me but I always have the best connection on FireTeam or in crucible and have never experienced any lag either

I also have the same problem and its driving me nuts... I even put my PS4 on the DMZ and still the same message. It makes no sense at all. Any solutions? Cheers, Fernando

I also have this problem with halo reach, not sure if you've played it but I don't miss out on anything except very rare occasions on custom games. So as far as I can tell is that you just don't connect with other players with a same connection unless you are on a server

Try power cycling modem. I have noticed it does go in and out over time. Having it then not having it. If nothing buy a gig switch for $20 from your local electronic store and plug LAN cable into switch and then into your ps4. I used to have this problem before when I had too short of a cable to my ps4 put switch in and now it doesn't do it again.

I have the exact same issue and also created this topic. No answer.

Do you have a router and a modem?

Edited by VanHelsing: 7/24/2014 12:56:16 PMExact same issue here. Forwarded my ps4 and have all the correct ports open. According to my ps4 I have type 2 NAT, but when I launch Destiny the strict NAT warning keeps popping up.

I get it to, but not sure what it means?
