The Sadness of the Iron Banner
I've only gotten the hand cannon (which is generally considered useless) so far and was going for the ship. Didn't get it last night, nor the event earlier today, so I was hoping for tonight's event to bode well.
nope.jpg commenced shortly after the first match started. Five matches later, blood boiling and a building want to break something useful, I found myself with an intense losing streak and no matter what I did, the team I happened to be on lost.
I'm just not sure this event is for me anymore. I did well the first two events, but these last two have just been miserable losses over and over and over again.
I'll keep trying, though. And if all else fails, I'll hope they make this a monthly event or something, or that I can earn the ship somehow in the future.
P.S. I don't feel entitled to earn the ship, nor am I saying this game sucks. I love the beta and the PvP, even though I kinda blow at FPS PvP in general. But the Iron Banner brought out every last piece of strength these Guardians have, as it should be, and I suppose I was either unprepared or unwilling to see defeat one foot in front of my poor, shotgunned face.

Edited by OneCollar: 7/22/2014 8:46:00 PMKind of sad i only got the rank 1 cloak instead of rank 2, If i'd known there was a shop earlier i'd get that rank 2 cloak, shader(Got) (Which i find odd it has lvl 20 req because of the bounty), and emblem (got) :(

At least you got something. I played in all the Iron Banner matches and got nothing from end match rewards. I am happy with my Emblem and Mark/Bond (both on my Titan and Warlock) and my completed bounties though.

5 RepliesI was going for the Hand Cannon for hours and hours on end and finally just got it a little while ago, I was thrilled to finally get it. I'm curious why you're saying it's useless? I know that I can't use it just yet, but playing the Explore mission with a hand cannon is my favorite way to play thus far & I'm very excited to know I'll have the hand cannon waiting for me (fingers crossed I get to keep it in the full version) when I reach level 20. Also, read the weapon info, it's pretty clear this is a very rare iron banner beta only weapon, I'm wondering if this will be the only possible way to walk away with Timurs Lash.

Man I didn't see a single legendary drop for anybody in any of my games! I played for ten plus matches in the event tonight, and was first place in three matches. I hope sadly that the items people receive don't carry over to the game. I wouldn't appreciate starting behind the pack due to random item distributioin. Given out based in no way on time/money invested or skill in this game. Please bungie either make it equal or just don't do it...
