Since this game is on consoles and we do not have a keyboard for communicating I think it's crucial that Destiny has proximity voice chat. Communication with new players is as of now not happening and it's making the game worse for it.
I know this could be abused by people who just want to troll. But it should be easy to mute or even have some kind of player feedback system in place to give a permanent proximity voice chat mute to the people abusing it.
I don't know how many times I ran around to people talking in my headset and waiting for a response. I expected this to be in a next-gen game. Then I found out you had to be in a fireteam.....
Disappointing and a feature I hope will be added. Let's take this game all the way to "next-gen" and not 98% of the way.

OK they should make it to where if they're in your team PERIOD You can hear them talk, not just your fireteam/ps4 chat party.
-
This is necessary for this game we need it
-
Yes please +1

Now that the game is live and out. It's clearer then ever that the game need proximity voice chat. It's degrading the gaming experience not having this as it is now. It's a game where cooperation and communication is vital. And THAT is the worst part about the game. How Bungie cant see this is beyond me.

I vote for plain keyboard communication. Just add a spam filter.
-
+1 Proximity chat would be absolutely amazing for out in the open world! Also, PvP NEEDS voice communication. As does grouping done by the game for quests.
-
This is a definite must have
-
Pressing the touchpad seems like it could have a few more features placed into it, such as the ability to select a voice chat type, for clan chat, fire team chat, or proximity chat.
-
Yes! The communication with other people on this game is so minimal it's unreal

No, just No. I don't want to have to mute every idiot who decides to "share" their music or whatever else they can pump through voice chat. Now that being said, I wouldn't mind a feature to enable proximity chat, but by default it should be disabled.
-
That would be extremely helpful!
-
I agree that it needs prox-comms but it should be push to talk only.

#bungie should #smartenup

Yes communication is important and Bungie doesn't think it is apparently
-
-
I think this would be nice to be able to toggle it on or off. I don't want it always on though. Plenty of people have too much background noise. It would be very annoying.
-
This would be extremely helpful. :)
-
Totally agree!
-
I really do hope it happens. It was the only compliant I had during the Alpha
-
bumpity bumpity yes
-
Bump already been raised but yeah this really needs to happen. Without it there's no social ability to the game. Just give people the option to mute and it's fair well said and done.
-
Bump. There are too many threads like this, but Deej from bungie says they are considering this feedback. This needs to happen otherwise it's just a silent awkward gameplay and it becomes too much of a burden too coordinate events
-
I agree. :)

Absolutely
