This game would be more awesome and maybe even sell more if they make it so PS3 and PS4 users could play together.

Just shit marketing technique, but I totally agree with you, I dislikes them for being so "yes sir Sony we'll follow your lead" i won't buy a ps4 system to play with my friends even though the idea of it makes me happy, but yet, 400 bucks doesn't fall from the trees, I'll stick with Ps3 for one more year at least.
-
They won't do this because they are trying to sell ps4 systems still if your friends have one then you want one you find out that a new awesome game is coming out and you can't cross play you then buy a ps4 so you can play with friends. Sales technique..

This would be a fantastic feature, however I'm not sure whether or not this would be able to be accomplished for cross-platform gameplay. But time will tell, good post.
-
I would really like this feature to be added. It seems like a big deal, but it would make the game so much better in my opinion.
-
I agree, If it can be done on other games, such as DC Universe. Then I don't see any reason why it can't be done on a better funded game like this one.
-
I whole-heartedly agree. I have a PS3 and one of the soul reasons I preordered the game was so I could play with my friends who upgraded to PS4 as soon as I got my console. I know bungie are saying they won't implement cross platform play in Destiny (but who knows, there's a slim chance the might change their minds...) but if we can get enough people supporting this idea, maybe similar things to PS3/PS4 crossplay will be added to inevitable Destiny sequels! If you think this is as good idea then please show your support.
-
Not going to happen I'm afraid
-
I think bungie should reconsider their opinion on this, so bump...
-
I would LIKE this to occur, but it will not.
-
I feel like it's more cost effective for Bungie and Sony to keep them separate. Bungie will have less work to do with the servers, and Sony will inevitably sell more ps4s.
-
Problem is anyone with a dualshock 4 has an advantage. I mean they just announced you can use a DS4 on PS3 but how many people do you think A) know this and B) are gonna buy a new.controller
-
I think I read they chose not to do this because they didn't want people to complain about ps4 having an advantage in multiplayer. However, I think the feature would help bring a lot of the community together and the difference in resolution would have a very minor effect in competitive fairness. I would love to be able to play with my friends who are still on the older gen hardware.

It's possible (see FFXIV) but my guess is they chose not to do it either because of cost or they can't do it with xboxes.
