CALLING ALL APLHA-PLAYERS AND VIDEO-WATCHERS!!!!!!

Hey everybody! So E3 is over, the Alpha is finished, and the Beta is weeks away. Since I neither went to E3 nor played the Alpha, I feel a little bit left out on the experience. So here we go... -To Alpha-players: what was your favorite moment while playing? Which class/race did you choose? What was your favorite/least favorite part of the build that Bungie had? What could be improved? -To "Video-watchers": What was your most memorable moment from a lifestream/posting/etc. that you saw (links to it would be nice, too, if possible)? Which class/race would YOU like to be when you get the chance to play? Are you planning on doing the Beta? Other questions could be added, but these are some of the ones on the top of my head. Go at it guys!

 • Watch out, long post. I had an Exo warlock, Awoken hunter, and human titan, the last of which I enjoyed playing the most. My single most memorable moment was during the raid/strike on Sepiks Prime's little hideout when I faced the Fallen walker-thingy (can't remember the name) with a full fireteam. It was the most difficult and intense fight that I got into during the Alpha, and actually taught me a bit about tactics in the game and how to best use each weapon type. I was disappointed at how easy the actual boss was in comparison, and it seems like something that'll be fleshed out more in the Beta or final release. My definite least favorite part of the game was actually the Crucible. It felt out of place in a mostly co-op game, and the balancing was bad at best. The learning curve was such that after a few games I found it more worth my time to explore the other classes (i.e. besides my then-maxed-out Titan) than to dig too deep into a very generic competitive mode. It definitely needs to be dramatically rebalanced and given better game types. For me, it was great to just be among a bunch of people who were excited for the game and finally being able to actually talk to new members of this growing community, especially considering that I'm an Xbox convert and someone who remembers the better parts of the Bungie-era Halo community. I was surprised at how many people there were that had also come over from 360, and it was refreshing (and surprising) to once again be able to play with people from the older Halo community outside of an organized event. I remember the weapons themselves better than most everything else. I settled right in to using the scout rifle, which is in fact a carbon copy of the DMR, its appearance notwithstanding. If you've read the weekly updates for the past few weeks, then you know about the Galahad-C auto rifle in some capacity, which says enough about how fun that thing was. The pulse rifle was disappointing, and felt like an inaccurate BR with a much smaller clip. Hand cannons were fun for headshots, but were otherwise completely inferior to a rifle, unlike the magnum and plasma pistol were in Halo. I noticed that the vast majority of people in the Alpha were friendly, competitive, and (most importantly) cooperative. For anyone new going into the Beta, the best thing you can do is to treat the game like a community. If and when you find other players, always work together and avoid being "that guy" who only does co-op to outdo his squadmates. Talk (or dance!) with people in the Tower, post on the forums, make/join B.net groups (or "clans," if you prefer), or just get your friends to join you once in a while. This is a series that'll carry on for 10 years, and I hope that we can build a community will last even longer than that.
