Here's the Complete Rundown. What do you think?
Xbox friends and new Playstation friends,
This forum is made for us to discuss Destiny, not to attack one another based on our choice of platform.
1. [u]Why is Destiny not 1080p/60fps?[/u]
First, the Xbox one cannot simply handle it without graphical cuts. It took Microsoft freeing up resources dedicated to the Kinect sensor to even get it to 1080p/30fps. Secondly, neither can the PS4, which was already at 1080p/30fps from the beginning. It is a stronger console, but not strong enough for such a huge difference in performance. For either system, it would require major cuts in the aesthetics of the game (how the game looks/overall detail) to even boost it a little. This, in my opinion, is just not worth it.

Even with the Xbox 360 and the PS3, Playstation had slightly better graphics. With the Xbox One and PS4, Playstation is still the better [u]gaming[/u] system with superior hardware. Games will simply look slightly better on the PS4.
On the other hand, the Xbox One is a better [u]entertainment[/u] system. It is a great source for seamless multimedia(especially with a Kinect) and can even play games nearly as well as the PS4. The PS4 can still play multimedia, but the interface [i]is[/i] better on the Xbox One.
I considered all of this when I bought my Xbox One and trust me when I say that it was a hard choice. Both are great consoles respectively.
3. [u]Destiny and Your Choice of Console[/u]
Other than exclusive content, Destiny will look nearly identical on the PS4 and the Xbox One. The game looks beautiful and, well, ridiculously fun. We all should be happy to be given the ability to experience this new universe that Bungie has made, no matter what console you are on.
Be happy with your choice and don't hate on other consoles. This post would be no different if I owned a PS4 instead. We are all Guardians in the making and I can't wait to see the diversity the Playstation players bring to Bungie's games.

Agreed, Xbx has alot more social and entertainment other than gaming. I chose the PS because i almost exclusively use it for gaming. For all the other stuff i already have multiple devices for that.

1 ReplyHey everyone Still kind of new on the forums. I always looked through the forums but a few weeks ago made an account to get ready for Destiny(like finding new friends to play along side with). I've been keeping up to date with all the new info, however stumbling onto this thread I noticed the poll option "The Vault of Glass looks scary....BRING IT ON". I haven't heard or read anything about this vault so I have no idea what it is. Can anyone explain or provide a link to a video or article. Thanks in advance.

[/quote] [b]BULLSHIT![/b] The PS4 can handle 1080p 60FPS then so can the Xbox One. The PS4 has a little more power than the Xbox One but it's not much. So why is the game not 1080p 60FPS? Here's my theory: The game engine is not optimized for x86 systems. When they started developing the game it was supposed to be an Xbox 360 timed exclusive so the game engine was optimized for the 360. Over the years that eventually changed and the game got pushed back one or two years and now its main console will be the PS4. The architecture of the 360 and the PS4 is pretty different so a game optimized for the 360 will not run that great on a PS4. The engine has since then been better optimized for x86 systems (PS4, XBO, PC) but it's not going to be as good as it could have been if they started the development with a focus on x86 systems.

Honestly I think if they ever release a 'Destiny 2' on just the next gen consoles, it'll be 60fps and 1080p for both consoles.

14 RepliesHalo The Mater Chief Collection is 1080p 60 frames per second, seriously Xbox One cant handle it? I disagree, and i'm pretty sure PS4 can handle it, but the reason, they say its 30fps, is so that everyone shares the same experience, PS3 to Xbox 360 to PS4 to Xbone to PC.

I mean look at the first PS3/X360 games compared to the last e.g. Halo 4 and The Last Of Us. The jump was massive, yet the consoles could still run the games smoothly. But you're saying the PS4/X1 can't even handle 1080p at 60fps. If this is true then basically we've reached a dead end in the progression of games on consoles? Basically anyone who bought a PS4/X1 can look forward to the same things we got last gen, just 1080p...

From what I've heard the human eye can't really tell the difference between 720 and 1080.

Both are running AMD CPU & GPU chipsets but they are not equal. 8 core Jaguar CPUs are identical except XBox1 is overclocked at 1.8, and PS4 is estimated at 1.6. Both GPUs are similar but Xbox1 is running at 1.3 teraflops while PS4 is at 1.8 teraflops. This is a decision for many PC gamers to upgrade a graphics to play a certain game. Ram is 8GB but again XBox1 is running DDR3 while Sony is DDR5. Now let's look at all AMD graphic cards, they all run DDR5, from 2010 to now, and was not designed for DDR3. Sony met AMDs specs, but XBox1 is faster due to Microsoft's updates. Not really for this issue as the OS is taking up more memory, and overclocking gives stable performance on graphic intense games when lacking graphical power. They did give an extra 800MB by subtracting the Kinect, which makes up for that issue to run destiny at performance settings, but is it faster or equal to PS4. Sad to say it again but no. DDR5 is running at a higher rate that fully integrates system for smoother performance. Also Sony's OS was specifically designed for the hardware configuration while Microsoft's OS is a derivative of Windows kernel designed to run two or three OS through vertuilzation. Doesn't mean that XBox1 is crappy, it means Microsoft have much room for improvement Software wise and same for Sony as well. Hardware wise Sony is better without a doubt. Sony can and may one day Run Destiny at 1080p at 60fps willing Bungies approval. *Drops Mic*

4 RepliesYour wrong. Frame rate has nothing to do with performance. Bungie has LOCKED the frame rate at 30, meaning that the next gen systems are capable of maintaining higher frame rates. The reason it is locked at 30 is because the last gen console can't go any higher and bungie wants to be consistent with frame rate with all gameplay so people with the higher frame rates don't have an advantage.

Sorry but it's the truth. I even looked it up why they locked it and it's because they want the same experience on all consoles. But to make up for it the ps4 and xbone will allow more people on screen and enchanced graphics! The more people on screen part is actually the thing making the difference between last and current gen! This means during events and random occasions their will be more guardians out their either helping you beat the crap out of these alien scum! They might even increase the amount of players in the crucible as well, the way bf4 increased the player size to 64 in conquest for ps4 and xbone. So please stop arguing you fan boys and have fun when the game comes, trust me it's going to be amazing. The alpha was great when I played so imagine what's next!

why does everybody think that bungie is intentionally holding back next gen consoles for last gen? why on earth would they make it 30fps on x1 and ps4 because of 360 and ps3? it makes no sense. a game like this with all the detail, particle effects and as massive as it is will run stable at 30fps. this will change in a couple years as devs continue to push the hardware, but as of right now...these consoles cant run this game at a stable 60fps...why on earth would they hold it back because of last gen..that is freaking ludicrous..same story with killzone shadowfall...why do you think they give you an option to run the game at a locked 30 instead of an unlocked framerate? its because the inconsistency breaks the immersion and doesnt make it feel and look as smooth as a locked and constant framrate. go read about the digital foundry comparison of murdered soul suspect. has an unlocked framrate on ps4 but a locked 30 fps on x1. guess where the better xp is???? on xbox one...why? because its is stable and fluid. why is infamous only 30fps? why is the order only 30 fps? why is dead rising have a low framerate? the consoles cant push 60fps on every single game...destiny 2 will probably be 60 fps, but it wont have anything to do with last gen, but it will have everything to do with pushing and learning the NEW hardware.
