Don't forget to have rain happening at the Tower.

While we had some snowfall in the Alpha in Old Russia I noticed no real weather patterns for the Tower. Some clouds and the occasional mist, but nothing really substantial. One of the best moments in large simulated environments is weather effects. Rain, fog, snow, and thunder storms would add some nice ambience to the Tower and some of its local bars and covered areas. Also the Vanguard Window has some spectacular vistas that would be fun to see in a rain storm. Some would say why? Of course? But out of all of GTA V's nonsense when a storm crops up I find myself sitting in the redwoods in my car enjoying the artistry used to create the event. Skyrim had this effect as well when a snow storm would end and you could see all of the northern coast from the College. Then it would fade once again into the snow fall. Those little weather effects leave lasting impressions. Hopefully such touches will add to the experience of wandering the Tower and the Hall of Guardians when the full game releases.

  • Nope, Not in the Last City. The Traveler is really the universe's most expensive air conditioning unit. It keeps the entire city a clean 86°F in the day, Sunny with a 5mph cross wind. It also blocks out the rain, harmful UV rays, cleans the smog out of the air from all of the space ships flying to and fro, and at night the Traveler lets the temperature drop to a crisp 72°F. Just cool enough to merit a blanket.
