I just made a mistake, a minor mistake, and yet I'm so pissed at myself for making a mistake. I feel like shit for it.
I've been this way my entire life. I make a mistake and I separate myself from everyone and think about how much of a failure I am for making a single mistake.
I still regret mistakes from over 10 years ago.
Why am I like this?
I think it's because I have a superiority complex mixed with a perfectionist view. I strive to be perfect, and anything less is demeaning and pathetic.
What do you think about this?
What do you think about me for thinking like this?
What do you think is wrong with me?
Just anything.

Mistakes are needed to learn from. We are not machines that know how to handle every situation perfectly.

Edited by Wythelastman: 6/23/2014 12:15:56 AMThat's normal. I think the exact same way. Some things to think about--- •(most)People are much more forgiving, empathetic, and nice than you give them credit for. •People forget (pretty quickly) •If you learned from the mistake and won't make it again, them it was a mistake worth making. And as stupid as it sounds I want you to take it to heart.....
Don't worry, be happy
Yo mistakes are great man. They help you grow as a person.

You are imperfect for thinking like this and posting it to Bnet.

You should kill yourself.

Well whether they're acceptable or not depends on the situation. Everyone makes them, lighten up a little man.

Is this a song or something?

Cry me a river. Stop wallowing in self pity, scrub.

Edited by Recon Number 54: 6/22/2014 7:30:13 PMDid you learn from the mistake? Did making the mistake make it less likely that you will repeat the steps that lead to the mistake? If you can answer "yes" to either of those, then while the mistake itself can be disturbing, you are also utilizing the event as an opportunity to learn, to improve, and to grow. Which makes "mistakes" very valuable events and not something your should either regret or fear, but rather as something you can keep an eye out for and properly take advantage of the opportunity they provide. Here's a blog entry that may provide some additional insight. https://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20140612144744-1467213-you-re-an-idiot-and-that-s-okay
