Destiny Field-Guide (Part 2 - Fallen) by BearCat

I was feeling pretty lazy yesterday and also today but some people wanted to see part 2 of the guide, so here I am toiling away in my cold house sitting in shorts because I'm too lazy to find jeans. Overview: The name "Fallen" fits good for this alien race. You can tell that they are a very intelligent race by seeing how the communicate with each other, the ranks that they are in and the armor they wear. There are about 5-6 actual creatures that I have met so far were very cool and made me feel like I was actually taking down a real intelligent race like fighting the collectors from Mass Effect. Fallen Dregs: The Fallen Dregs are the most feral and humanoid of all of the fallen. Yes, I know that the Fallen are aliens, but in comparison to the four armed freaks, the Dreg are the size of a human and they only have two arms. Dregs have little mohawks, a shock knife and the armor makes them look like a Hunter. Also easier to kill, they are pretty much like the Thrall except they have weak weapons that mean they can attack from longer distances. There are usually 2-3 Dreg in a little pack of Fallen littered across Old Russia. They'll be the ones that will get up in your face. They like to get behind rocks and split up. They are pretty easy to take out because they don't have any shields on the base variant. You can really throw whatever you want at them. I encountered lots of variants in the Alpha. First of all, at the Skywatch there were blue Fallen, I let it kill me to see what its name was. It said Fallen Dreg of course, but it's House was the "House of Kings". I do not know if the houses really mean anything or if they add into the lore of the Fallen. There were also types of Dreg that looked the same but had shields and buffness. The Feral Dreg is the most intimidating of the two types. Its found in high level areas where it has shields and guns that can deal lots of damage. There is also a Noble Dregs that are just a beefier version of the typical Dreg, they can be found in the Noble Devil Walker event. Fallen Shank: The Fallen Shanks are tiny little robots that scour the earth for who knows what. I just think that they are sentry robots. They are extremely fragile and a melee can knock this little guys out. They can't move very fast because they have two little propellers on either side of its rectangular body. It has a red eye in the middle and a little min-gun on its bottom that shoots little bullets one at a time. I've only encountered one variant of the Shank which was a Noble Shank deployed by the Noble Devil Walker in the public event. (Oh ya, Devil Walkers deploy Shanks) It has shields and deals slightly higher damage. Still really easy to take out. Fallen Vandal: This is the first Fallen group that means business. They have 6 limbs now, jeez! Working our way up in the limb count! They can carry more with the four arms and seem to be more agile. They have a long red cape that makes them look like an alien space pirate, a helmet that shows off their 6 glowing blue eyes and it also has two protrusions coming out of the side curling towards the front. The Vandals have a wide array of weapons in their arsenal. Depending on the subclass, they will have Wire Rifles (Sniper), Shock Rifles (Typical), swords and energy swords. The two guns deal a lot of damage, but they take time to charge after they've shot the homing shots that follow your direction for awhile. The few sub-classes are the "Elder Vandal" which is merely a beefier version of the Vandal, the "Noble Vandal" which just has a shield, and the Stealth Vandal has an invisibility cloak and carries swords typically in all four arms, surprisingly, they are hard to spot in most instances especially in the strike mission. They deal high damage and can piss you off easily. Depending on the variant/subclass you'll want to hit it with a shotgun or if you're surrounded by Stealth Vandals, you may even want to use your super or grenade if you have one because you can die very quickly. These guys are quick and agile. The other vandals will die with a few shots to the face. Fallen Captain: The Blackbeard of Aliens, these guys can take damage, teleport short distances and lead the alien desperados into the fray by yelling the warcry of the Fallen. The Captains have almost a look that of a samurai, the big armour, the huge billowing cape and the large ornamental helmet. These creatures are at the top of the social hierarchy and command everything else that isn't another Captain. They mostly carry swords, but sometimes also have a huge flamethrower that spews out 4 flame covered projectiles that deal huge damage. The also have the typical Wire Gun that shoots out little homing bullets. You'll want to be careful of these guys, especially the "Noble" and the "Elder" Fallen Captains. You should really attack from behind a wall because if you get too close, Shotguns will take too long to take one down and his swords with run you through. Break the shields and dodge the bullets to get in close and -blam!- that guy up before he regenerates. Fallen Devil Walker: The Devil Walker may be one of the coolest, yet rage inducing meaty enemy you may ever meet in Old Russia. The first time I played through the Devils lair, it took longer to kill the Walker then it did to kill Sepiks Prime. The second playthrough made me realize that he was super weak to hand cannons. The Devil Walker has 6 Armor Plated legs, a red "head" and many different weapons on its back. I've met one different variation of the Devil Walker is the "Noble Devil Walker". It was simply beefier with higher damage output. For the strategy you're going to want to shoot out its legs so it can no longer support itself, it will fall on its big red head (hehe) and the engine or power core will be revealed (hehehe) so you shoot at it until the big Walker erects its body up again. Be careful of his big rocket, he will shoot out a big laser to show where he will be hitting and then you have about 5 seconds to get the hell out of there. He also shoots big pulses that can do a lot of damage. So basically, just shoot out the legs and be constantly be moving. Fallen Servitor: The Servitor isn't really common in the game. You'll see one around the Rocket Yard behind a cargo crate with two Fallen Dreg. It is at level 8 and is almost shrouded by a purple glow. The Fallen around it also seem to be exuding purple. Fighting these three I've decided that the Servitor gives some sort of buff to the creatures in close proximity with it. The servitor is like a mini version of Sepiks Prime, being a shere with a purple eye in the middle of it. The Servitor shoots medium sized arc blasts at you and can teleport short distances to dodge the player. It can't really deal huge damage, it's more of a support role. No other variations have been spotted in the wilds yet, I'll keep you informed Guardian. Try taking out this creature with a shotgun or perhaps even from long distance while being careful of the other enemies it surrounds. Sepiks Prime (Boss): Sepiks Prime is a huge variant/boss of the typical Servitors. He is known to be a controlling boss and to have many unique powers that cause the Fallen to almost obey him. He is a large sphere that has an almost diamond/amethyst center (it's bright purple). When you run in his little sanctuary you'll find him in a little almost hibernation stage where he is powering up with the souls of the dead Fallen (you can't inflict damage until the Fallen are dead). Once you kill the Fallen you'll see that the shield is gone and he is ready to fight. He shoots big purple blasts that can easily break your shields. Sepiks is very intelligent although he doesn't have many moves to really make him feel that unique. If you shoot at him for too long he will teleport a short distance (just like the Fallen Captain can) so he can get a better shot at you. Don't let him get too close or else he will separate a bit and start sucking up like a vacuum cleaner and kill you quickly before teleporting away. He doesn't have many tactics, just wail away at the big purple eye to get maximum damage and his massive health bar will start to fade down. Overview: The Fallen are the first intelligent alien race that I have played against in a game for awhile. You can tell that they almost have a certain strategy for each circumstance. Their design is amazing and I can't wait to meet more types of Fallen in the beta and actual game! (Remember that this is a work in progress. If you see any errors or you want to add something in, just tell me!)
