take a look at 3:18:40 for frankie's elaboration on fps games.
two quotes of particular importance:
"there has been kind of a backlash about it; not just with our stuff but with other people's games where there's just too much and people want something sort of simple and as esports comes back they want something more balanced and more symmetrical and fair."
context: talking about the complexity of the modern shooter.
"so i think there's definitely some sort of... i think it's a see saw. and i think it's tipping back towards the [competitive side]. and esports is certainly driving a lot of that [by] going for things that are really truly competitive rather than just sort of reward driven. i think you can have your cake and eat it; i think you can have both of those sets of experiences in a game and sort of reward people in the campaign and make sure that your multiplayer is something pure."
context: talking about today's reward driven multiplayer experiences.

Edited by Auttumnnnn: 6/11/2014 6:58:02 AMIt's certainly very reassuring to hear that. Once the Halo 5 Beta is up, we'll be able to see if their words have some actual meaning to them.

This doesn't make sense to me. Either way, give us a good competitive game that's actually enjoyable this time, and I won't see a problem.

And no one should care until something is actually shown, talk is cheap now a days.

Well, that's definitely a turn from their quote believing players didn't want balance in their multiplayer (if only someone would had that source handy). Not a 180 turn. But I'm feeling a little more comfortable with 343i. Halo 5 is still off the buying list until I know more.

Where are you seeing that? All I see when I click the link is a video for Mortal Kombat X.

AWESOME!!!!!! Honestly this is what I have been hoping for. They need to go back to the old days where Halo was competitive. Noobs loved it and people like me who like competition loved it. I HATE this whole "every kid gets a trophy" style gaming that was in Halo 4 and reach. Plus if Halo can get back on MLG then Halo could really return to its former glory
-
Just hope they are more basic than the last few, I play Halo for an arena style shooter, not a trophies for everyone style shooter. I think both systems can work but Halo was built in that very basic arena style and it's additions while small went leagues in terms of gameplay for me.

I'm skeptical until I actually see something
