The rapidly declining quality of bungie.net
Ever since the website changed to what it is now, the quality of threads and posts has been steadily slipping. At first I thought it was just me, maybe I've matured and realised what quality is. Then I had another thought. What has changed this community? It's not me, it's them. It hit me, the thing that has reduced bungie.net to a slew of poorly created yet super popular threads is it's newest addition.

When bungie was xbox only, we lived in harmony, and proper discussion was plentiful in almost every forum. Recruiting was properly managed, and polls killed threads, instead of harbouring their growth.

There will always be trolls, there will always be people who haven't grasped the feel of the site yet. More than anything, I'd like to see this community grow into a big cohesive unit, like I know it can. Time will tell. [/spoiler]

4 RepliesFirst let me say this for starters,without PlayStation it would be know xbox,wait im not done because when xbox was not out what system was you playing? Hmm Playstaytion and every aspect of the xbox came from Playstaytion but just in a downgrade version,xbox didn't even have blue ray,with all of the new and old xbox systems,Playstaytion one still has more games then all of xbox versions,so don't start crying over some game,when xbox only has two good games ever,call of duty and halo,just one system of are out numbers all the xbox games.

2 RepliesI won't say it's the ps4 fault but I feel as the community just evolved. I do understand what Achronos and the web team were trying to accomplish when they made the up date. Things like self moderation more freedom etc, but I surely do like how things originally were. I feel as the kind of took individuality away with the way the forums are. People are complaining that the good members left, but I think the older members who have been here long enough should step up themselves. Now we are the vets and we need to do our part by contributing positively towards the community.

Generally, the more likable members of the site enjoyed participating in groups as well as the public forums, but after .next dropped, most of them left because their group privileges (And pretty much everything enjoyable about groups, to be honest) were taken away.

The ones I'd like to bring to attention are social pressures--acceptable behaviours, taboos, etc. Newcomers adopt these, or else they become isolated and leave. Rather, what I think is happening is that you're now observing others behave in the same manner as you once did--but because you're looking at outsiders and because time has changed you to a degree--you dislike it. The Flood, for the time I've been here, has not changed its behaviour--much. Of course, we're now able to talk about things only the bold and stupid once did, but as a whole it has not changed. Only, I no longer enjoy the shenanigans I once participated in. Indeed, I grow tired of them, and wish other people would too.

15 RepliesI dont think PS players have anything to do with it actually I'm a PS player and I can clearly see what the problem is The problem is that a real bungie game hasn't came out in awhile H4 wasn't a bungie title so discussions declined And not too much information on Destiny is being released So some people are bored and make corny post so what One Destiny comes out I'm pretty sure the forum post will become much better for both Xbox players and PS players Blaming the PS community is wrong since bungie started off on pc anyways

2 RepliesI agree when Xbox was the only console here their where good threads on halo and what's next. Now when I make a post someone has to call me a no life loser and guess who it is? Correct, it is a play station player who has no understanding of what Bungie is and what they are. I agree 100% if Bungie would have just stayed with Xbox then our community would be a happy welcoming place to all who wish to discuss halo and what will be in OUR future. While Bungie showed us that their a slave to the American Dollar they also showed that Xbox is just another way to make money. I wish play station players would shape up or ship out of our loving home. If only Bungie carted enough to keep this community pure and Sony free :(
