Banding together based on regular encounters?

Good Evening Chaps, I was beginning to ponder the direction on which way clans and guilds would go. Dare say I have seen the plethora of groups already forming and recently even received a spam mail to join one group today. Personally I am waiting for a point in which more information becomes more available prior to setting down any routes in one place. The reason behind this is because of the claims of the background matchmaking process that allows apparently pairs you up with other chaps that are geographically closer to you to create a better stable connection that will avoid deteriorating your gaming experience. If this is the case would you reach a point were you will start to bump into "regulars"? since its not a random chap somewhere in the world? Cause if the mechanics of the system are that it tries to place you within a near location then spirals outwards then eventually and considering a ten year point wouldn't in that time wouldn't you get to know who your regular Destiny neighbours are? With this being the case would it not be natural that these frequent meetings in the wild, on raids and during public events lead to the desire to band together into the clans/guilds/fireteams. If they are geographically similar then time zones and thus playtimes would be similar making coordinating things easier. Has anyone else given this much thought or do they intend to try and maintain whatever groups they have already created? I am sure there is the option to invite other chaps via party management into your mission or have I completely misinterpreted the system mechanics?
