I know who you are. You are destiny." This was the AI Durandel speaking tho the Cyborg, so, what if The cyborg or Durandel have something to do with the traveler? Total speculation, but it is an interesting idea. Also there's that robot race(forgot their name) in destiny, I wonder if theyhave anything to do with the cyborg Battleroids in the backstory of marathon.
