Let's take a moment to calm down?
Guys, posting 50+ topics in all threads, threatening to cancel your preorder, vowing to not buy Destiny, or sending hate mail to Deej is not helping the situation. I'll admit that I liked Marty and loved the stuff he produced, but getting all hyped won't change anything. We have only heard one side so far and that is just him saying, "I'm saddened to say that Bungie's board of directors terminated me without cause on April 11, 2014." Now without cause really means nothing since giving a cause brings in an entire legality nightmare. Another thing is why would he only post that? To get the exact reaction you guys are giving now. Calm down, listen to some Halo 3 music, and wait for Bungie to come out with an official explanation.

Simple as that. 343i is now officially better than Bungie, and as much as it hurts to say it, it's objectively true"-(Fat Marshal) but either way Exp's right in saying we don't know anything about the nature of the termination. Furthermore no company would fire someone as important as Marty without reason.

So the choice is to get fired and let them take your job and work. Or to live under the pressure cooker of that as the artists can be forced into making things or they take the job. Not the Bungie we know and love. The Board sent a message. Its time the Consumer sends one back.

Probably not going to hear anything else out of Bungie on the matter because you just don't air why you fired someone out to the public. As much as I don't like it as a fan they're doing the right thing by not giving out details. (though Marty should probably know why at the very least if he doesn't already) As for the site overreaction and mob mentality that's nothing new here. Not really bothered that much by it. Fans will voice their opinions on stuff they're passionate about (and who wouldn't be passionate about Marty's music). The rest (spamming/tempertantrums) will blow over with time ala PS4 early beta kerfuffle.

Shut up. Why should we calm down?! It's enough Staten left, now freaking Marty! It's unacceptable, you don't behead your founding fathers in this manner. The reason Bungie's music was decent was because of Marty's work. The brain child of Halo was Staten. If the directors think this is okay we should show them that it isn't! We're not going to bend over and take it.

The board doesn't think they owe us any more than that. They are wrong. That change.org petition or posting angry rants to the forums ain't gonna do shit. You're absolutely right on that front. But canceling the pre-order? That is exactly the right reaction. The rank-and-file like Deej care more about this situation, but they are being shut out by the higher-ups who believe we will come as long as they wag something we want in our faces.
