Would you rather seek out loot, or have the loot find you
In borderlands, the only other game I can think of with immense loot, I big part of the game is searching for legendary loot. I don't want that feeling. I want to be battling the vex for control of Venus, and fall into a hole. At the bottom of that hole I want to see red death laying across the lap of a skeletal, deceased, guardian. I want to pick up the exotic rifle, find my way out of the hole, and blast my enemies to pieces. In this story, I didn't kill the same boss over and over again for sick loot. The loot came to me. Which way do you prefer? Honestly it comes down to play style. I would highly recommend playing destiny without YouTube walkthroughs or other means of taking you to of immersion. It's the better way to game in my opinion. Yes, sometimes you will go and search for the legendary weapons shrouded in rumors and mystery. You will raid Charlemagne's vault in search of a fabled hand canon. But that is very very different. How will you live out your destiny?

I'm pretty sure the way it works is let's say you're Guardian is level 5 and you come across a boss character,as you're fighting this boss the programming in the game analyzes how you defeat the boss. In turn the game realizes what you were doing best and what you were doing the worst at. It then drops loot according to your level and based on what you did good and bad at. Now if you start with a new Guardian and make your way to that same boss character,based on your level and overall tactics your loot will be completely different,that way you can very seldomly ever get the same loot over and over again. Plus with being able to customize your weapons etc,nobodies weapons will be exactly the same.
