Which has better:
-co-op
-characters
-replay value
-engaging moments
-story
Which would you recommend ? They are equally priced right now ...

I prefer 2. You don't have to manually pick up each and every item individually. Also it isn't brown.

Edited by Iberius Huskus: 4/19/2014 8:42:22 AM2, but I prefer the loot system of 1. BL2 has the better guns, but in BL1 the weapons were a lot more randomized so it was extremely satisfying when you found something awesome. Also, you didn't have to spend hours upon hours grinding for legendaries in BL1, you could just kill Crawmweax and get like an explosion of them. In BL2 the legendaries are better and more unique but their stats are less randomized and finding them is a massive pain. Chances are most of your legendaries are going to be duplicated from other players. Also, I had this one assault rifle in BL1 with a mag of like 200 bullets and the firerate of a minigun. It also did like 530 damage per shot which was -blam!-ing powerful back then. That gun was just plain satisfying to shoot for the hell of it, let alone mowing down hordes of mooks, but BL2 has some seriously satisfying weapons as well. The Fibber on Gaige can clear out an entire room in seconds, the DPUH is just badass, as is the Norfleet, Butcher, Conference Call, and Interfacer.

Both absolutely incredible games!! I just prefer 2 because everything just seems a tad better! The combat, the graphics, the story etc...

Edited by Inyaccurate: 4/13/2014 3:29:03 AMBorderlands 2 is the type of sequel that every game deserves. It improves on the franchise in every department. Graphics, DLC quantity and quality, narrative, characters, gameplay, difficulty (where it is needed, ie: raid bosses), lore, etc. This, however, does not mean that the first is a bad game. The first game offers a very large amount of fun filled content as well. It just may not be as polished or abundant as it is in Borderlands 2.

BL2 Good dlc Amazing characters and villain Also Tina

BL2 is better in every way.
-
Borderlands 2
-
I enjoyed the second more. Much more.
-
I loved the first one better than the second but they are both amazing games
-
Feel free to mingle... with nobody
-
Never played the first one, but I really like the second... Also, I heard that the second one redeems the first one...
-
Borderlands 2 improved upon literally everything that Borderlands had.
-
Borderlands 2 is better in all of those categories.
-
Borderlands 2 will last you longer, but one is a lot of fun too. Get 2 if you can only get one, but try to get both.
-
Both, but MAKE sure you get DLC and I mean all major dlc. Or they will feel incomplete 1. Just 4 dlc here 2. The 4 main dlc's, the 2 characters, the 2 level cap increases, and the head hunter packs. ( GOTY contains all the above except head hunter packs and upgrade pack 2) the skins, collectors edition stuff, creature slaughter are all cool, but not necessary to get the complete package.
-
co-op: both characters: 2 replay value: 2 (though i cant stand to run through it more then 3 times, even though i havent hit the newest level cap) engaging moments: 2 story: 2 guns: 1 (only because i had a broken set up and it made the guns shoot so fast the sound glitched out) DLC: both

They are both very good games. But 2 improved a lot of things (such as giving every manufacturer unique weapon designs). I did enjoy how Roland worked over Axton a bit though. Also the first Borderlands had some of my favorite weapons and manufacturers (I would love to have my Atlas guns back, along with the crux and the Orion).
-
The second game was an improvement in every way imaginable. But they're both amazing games, so I'd recommend both.
