There's not really much for me to go off here, but what if the Campaign for Halo 5 plays out like how ODST did? A hub world, with a variety of environments/plazas, atmospheric music in-tone to the emotion behind whatever plot the game has for us, as well as (depending on how the plot is), a choice in what mission we play in a variety of orders.
As usual, there's a lot of rumors that get tossed around back and fourth, one of them being the return of Cortana or something along those lines. I don't want to go too deep into the idea, because I don't want to seem like I'm some sort of 'Follower of Halo' or anything. But to me, the idea of Halo 5's Campaign being like ODSTs actually sounds fun.
I liked Halo 4's Campaign and all, but I found it too linear. Every time I played it, I found myself taking the same routes over and over again because there was nothing different any other time.
Ex.
Enemey 'X' spawns when 'Player' reaches 'Y'.
It was the same each time; no real incentive to play it again. ODST tried to mix that up a bit, but still fell into that cycle once you found the pattern. What this would have to do with Halo 5 is that the world would have to be more open and dynamic. Considering there's a wider range of opportunity to be explored with the Xbox One, I don't think this would be impossibly hard to pull off.
A huge gripe I had with Halo 4 was (ironically) the amazing aesthetic to the environment. After walking out from the wreckage on the second level, all I wanted to do was explore, but the game was linear. I'd love to be able to explore more scenic routes than having it beckon me from a distance. It's just a missed opportunity IMO.
If you guys are actually interested in this, I'll be more than welcome to expand it more. But until then, I don't want to put in a ton of effort into it, just for it to be shoved off because of some fanboy war thread.
Hey Siffera, long time no see. While I would like to see this, I doubt it would be in a main game. Seems more reasonable for another spin off. also, Halo 2 Anniversary with an ODST New Mombassa <3

If it played like Halo 3: ODST then I would easily mistake it for the second coming.

Edited by ChaosMetalMarty: 4/10/2014 10:20:29 AMInteresting, but ultimately It would just lead to more whining from Halo 3 fanboys "Buh-Buh Its not muh real Halo" "343 is ruining Everything" "There making it too noob freindly" "Halo Is ruined" "Something something acessability"

That would be great, actually.

I'd think that would be perfect, really.

That would be awesome, the game would go back to its root with CE and ODST

If it played like ODST it would be an insta buy. I can imagine leads from clues that lead to cortana or something. Or Halsey. Amazing
