What is a Bungie.net User Profile?
This is your profile created on bungie.net. You attach authentication methods to access your Bungie.net User Profile.
What is an authentication method?
An authentication method is HOW you sign into your PROFILE. You can use a Microsoft, PlayStation, Facebook or Google+ account as authentication methods. These are the "keys" to access your account.
What is a shell account?
A shell account is a temporary authentication method used to swap out accounts on your Bungie.net User Profile.

------
How do I change my password on bungie.net?
Depending on which way you're connected, you must sign into the authentication method that's linked to your Bungie.net User Profile and change your password from there. It will automatically be reflected to bungie.net. Click on the appropriate "link" to authenticate it. Simply sign in with that new authentication method and it will become linked. Simply click "unlink" and that authentication method will be removed.
REMEMBER An account may not be unlinked if it is the only account on a Bungie.net User Profile. And An account may not be unlinked if the user is currently signed into that account on a Bungie.net User Profile.

I have TWO Bungie.net User Profiles, how I do combine/merge my login methods together?
1.) Decide on the Bungie.net User Profile that you're going to use. 2.) Login on the "secondary Bungie.net User Profile" that you're not going to use. 3.) You must have at least two ways to connect to that secondary Bungie.net User Profile. If you don't, create a shell account (through http://account.live.com/ or http://us.playstation.com/psn/) and link that to your secondary Bungie.net User Profile. If you already have an additional authentication method to sign in through, skip ahead. 4.) Sign into your secondary account through the shell account, unlink the other authentication methods(s) you want to put on your "main" Bungie.net User Profile. 5.) Sign in to your "main" Bungie.net User Profile and link the previously "unlinked" authentication method(s) to your preferred bungie.net user profile.
I accidentally created a NEW Bungie.net User Profile when I really wanted to link my two existing accounts! What do I do?!
A. You must decide which Bungie.net User Profile you wish to be your primary, and set it aside (say the one linked with your Windows Live ID or Playstation Network ID).
REMEMBER An account may not be unlinked if it is the only account on a Bungie.net User Profile. And An account may not be unlinked if the user is currently signed into that account on a Bungie.net User Profile.
Setup for resolving the issue: 1.) Create at least 1 shell accounts (http://www.gmail.com) 2.) Select a Bungie.net User Profile to be your "primary" profile and set it aside Resolving the issue: Link the shell account to the Bungie.net Profile with the account that you wish to free 1.) Log into Bungie.net with the account that you wish to unlink that is not of the Authorization type of the shell account you’ve created. 2.) Link your shell account to your Bungie.net User Profile
(Navigate to Profile > Settings > Account Settings > Click “Link with (Authorization Type)” {For ex. “Link with Facebook”} > Sign in with chosen Authorization Type)
Un-link the old account: 3.) Sign out, then back in with the newly linked account 4.) Un-link your other account (of which Authorization Type you chose above from the Bungie.net User Profile which is now using your shell account 5.) Sign out and forget this Bungie.net User Profile Link your account to your actual profile 6.) Sign into your original account you set aside (which is associated with your primary Bungie.net User Profile) 7.) Link your actual account to your Bungie.net User Profile
(Navigate to Profile > Settings > Account Settings > Click “Link with (Authorization Type)” {For ex. “Link with Facebook”} > Sign in with chosen Authorization Type)

I've created too many fake Google accounts, and it won't let me make any more! What do I do?
You will need to use a different platform (Facebook, Microsoft of PlayStation).
I haven't been here in a while and I just signed in and I was forced to create a NEW Bungie.net User Profile. What happened?
When you sign in with a brand new authentication method to bungie.net, if it isn't attached to a Bungie.net User Profile, you'll be forced to create a new one. If you had an OLDER Bungie.net User Profile, you must login through that authentication method to gain access.

How do change my PSN or Xbox Live Gamertag/Handle on my Bungie.net User Profile?
You must have at least 2 ways to sign into your Bungie.net User Profile. If you don't, you need to create a shell account (through http://account.live.com/ or http://us.playstation.com/psn/) and link that to your Bungie.net User Profile. Once this is done, sign into your Bungie.net User Profile through the shell email, and remove the Xbox Live or PSN authentication method that you're going to swap out for the new one. Then simply follow the above steps to add your NEW XBL/PSN authentication method to your Bungie.net User Profile.
REMEMBER The new gamertag/handle you're linking must not be connected to another Bungie.net User Profile. If it is, follow the steps above to "unlink" that authentication method (this will free the account up so you can add it to your "good" account).

Ok, so I unlinked my authentication method, but when I tried to link it again, it took me to the account creation screen! What the hell!?
If you are being prompted to create a new account, you likely inadvertently started the account creation process. You'll need to finish creating the account, then unlink it again in order to free it up.
I changed the email address on my XBL account. When I went to log into Bungie.net it had me create a new account. What gives?
Your Bungie.net User Profile is associated to the email you used when you signed up, not the XBL account. It's a bit funky, we know. But by changing your email address on your XBL account, you actually prevented yourself from signing back in (unless you had linked other auth types). To rectify this, you'll need to change your email address on your XBL account back to what it used to be, then sign into Bungie.net and link a different Auth type (PSN, Facebook , or Google+.
TO CHANGE ALIASES Go to http://account.live.com. Click Account aliases Click Make primary under the alias you want as your primary

How do I verify my bungie.net user profile?
This is managed through Profile > Settings > Email Settings. From there, you can change the CONTACT email address that you wish to be addressed by Bungie at. Simply change the email address to one that you want and you will be sent an automated email from Bungie. Click on the "verify now" link in the email and you'll be redirected back to bungie.net. You can also check the verification status from the same menu.

For more tips and general information on bungie.net check out the Bungie.net Community FAQ or use the navigation below to our other #Help threads.
