So, this may be way too esoteric for Bungie to incorporate into the game, but I've been thinking how cool it would be if the developers offered up some scientific reasoning behind the space magic we're all excited about. For instance:
- Maybe the Fist of Havok is actually the release of a massive static charge built up by micro-oscillators in the Titan's gauntlets brushing rubber against bits of fur hundreds of times a second.
- Maybe the Ghost Gun is actually a way of turning the Hunter's rounds into little neutron triggers, which -- upon hitting a target with ANY amount of fissile material -- trigger miniature nuclear fission reactions, leading to one-hit kills?
- And the Nova Bomb? I'm sure we could come up with some sufficiently cool explanation for that one involving dark matter, dark energy, or just plain old anti-matter.
I'm certainly happy to play the game and enjoy it for what it is, but I think it would be a whole other level of wonderful if the powers of the Traveler were based on these ancient forces that exist already in the Universe, and have been here since the dawn of atoms.
