I suck at writing, and this damn paper is due monday
Yeah, so I have an English 2000 paper due Monday.
The Topic is as follows:

I have it mostly written and am currently trying to revise it, and the number one bit of feedback I have is "write a better opening sentence."
currently, my opening sentence is the following: [quote]"The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines literacy as “The ability to read and write” [/quote] This sentence fits in the paper, but I need something better to go before it and open up the paper, but I can't think of shit.
So, does anyone have a good opening line I could use?

Throw out a cool statistic that relates to your paper. "99% of humans cannot read or write" or whatever.

While reading the Merriam-Webster dictionary I came across the definition of Literacy. It was defined as the ability to read and write, I found this to be interesting. I chose to look deeper into the meaning of the word. I began to research the root word in Latin, and it's meaning in other languages....Blah blah blah. I have gotten 95 or higher on every paper I have written in college. ask me anything.
