The Last Word
We have heard about this weapon referred to as[quote]The Hero's Weapon[/quote] but we have not seen anything of it. We know that it is a twin/opposite of the Thorn, which we have seen concepts and props of. Th Last Word is said to have a sandalwood grip and gold trimming and such. This weapon will be the exotic that I will accomplish anything to obtain. Therefore, I have researched an image of this gun, an I believe I have found it. At 1:30 in the shared video of the Hellmouth Raid on the Moon, the Hunter Guardian can be seen reloading a handcannon, which I believe is The Last Word. What do you think? Am I right? Am I wrong, or what? Comment below.

I've also heard the gun quoted as the [spoiler]yin[/spoiler] and the [i]Thorn[/i] as the [spoiler]yang[/spoiler]. This gun is indeed super sweet, and [i]Thorn[/i] is pretty cool (esp. when it will get buffed) and I earned it through the bounty. Comment if you have or want this gun! I sure do!

The Last Word is one of the rarest exotic weapons you can get where as the Truth or Suros is more common. Most have reported to get The Last Word from legendary primary engrams and Vanguard Tiger strike. It is also rumored, (I have yet to see it for myself) that you will get a legendary primary engram from completing 25 Tiger strikes in a row. It can also be obtained within the Crucible and Weekly missions along with Nightfall. My best assumption as I have yet to get it, make sure you run Nightfall every week and do a lot of Vanguard Tiger strikes. Something is bound to happen. Good Hunting, Stay Shiny. ~lDevilsRejectl

3 Replieswhat activity did most people get the last word in? i have done many raids with all of my characters and also nightfalls and strikes. i have even played crucible for hours and hours and i just cant seem to get it no matter what i play? most of my friends have gotten it in the loot chest in gorgons labyrinth, and i have opened it well over 30 times. i have also beat Atheon on hard and crota. i know another place to look is the death singer, but i still cant find it. please comment and tell me ways i could find it faster, and how you found yours if you have it.

Have all 3 exotic hand cannons maxed out but TLW is by far my favorite. Don't see a lot of people using it and also the feel of the gun just makes it feel exotic. It was the one exotic I wanted the most when I first started playing

The Last word is without a doubt the only gun i have dreamed about getting. i love the story of Jeren Ward and Dredgen Yorn . i heard about this gun towards the end of December, and as soon as i heard it i wanted it. i go the quote in the story." it was something earned not given." and even though i still don't have it i hope that i can find it soon. but from what i know and what i hear about it is that is a masterpiece of a handcannon there is definitely no other to compare though as some would argue about thorn ounce you know and understand the stories of not just the guns themselves but their owners you soon learn that both is as one in the same. i have thorn but if i could trade for the last word i would totally trade it. sure its perfect for pvp but i have had my fun with it and i would like to have the last word. but if the chance comes to you keep it and if you are a hunter equip the gunslingers trans and chain of woe, this goes for any hand cannon sharpshooter you can thank me later. best of luck to anyone grinding for this gun i hope you guys find it.

Congrats on finding the last word... A note to all those claiming it's range is too short... The gun would be OP as hell if the range was any further... I'll explain, range is not how "far" the gun can shoot. Range determines the fall off damage. So If you do 100 damage at 10 feet, and do 75 damage at 20 feet. An increase in range may make it do 90 damage at 20 feet instead of 75 damage. Now considering the gun already does a lot of damage, you can get away with using it at long range. You may use an extra bullet or two, but it is doable. I know because I use it for long range... I've killed other guardians on the other side of the map during crucible, and I've used it to take out hobgoblins in the vault of glass during the oracles fight. So as long as your precision is good and your aim is good you can take stuff out at long range. It may not be the most practical, but it is possible in a pinch. Especially if you don't want to risk whipping out a sniper and loosing your shot. Enjoy! :p

Those two hand cannons are situational. I have both and using the thorn as a sniper and the last word as cqb is to fun. Has me feeling like Sylvester Stallone

I only have a void Fusion rifle and I can't make any progress at all. Partly I'm sure because I just find myself going back to my primary weapon just so I'm not getting steamrolled. I guess as a Hunter this is going to be the most difficult bounty given our lack of void damage from talents?

1 ReplyI have one, and as much as it looks sexy as hell, I just can't get use to not using ADS on it, all of it's bonuses are for hip firing and the range is so short. I've become attached to my Lord High Fixer. The Last Word is a fun gun, I just aim too much.
