Flawless multiplayer right there, so competitive lol. MLG!
EDIT: I'm not a big Halo 4 multiplayer fan (I enjoyed the campaign though) so don't think like that. Halo 2 wasn't flawless like many on this forum think, it isn't that i'm a "343itard". I loved Halo 3 and Reach and play CE Multiplayer frequently.
-
It wasn't the tech that made it flawless, it was the system.

Still fun... Wait until November comes around on these forums. People still think Bungie is making Halo games.
-
Inb4 everyone complains after MCC release, despite hype level over finally being able to play H2 multiplayer again.

Edited by Boomdeyadah: 2/9/2014 12:58:57 AMImplying superjumping and flying across Coagulation weren't the greatest things of all time Implying the sword lunge is worse then melee lunge in 3/Reach/4 Implying BxR and BxB didn't create a massive skillgap Implying the ranking system isn't the second best in the series Implying Reach and 4 don't have equally as large of hitboxes Implying you've never played Reach to know how bad the melee lunge is Implying Reach and 4 don't have even worse of aim assist and bullet magnetism Implying Halo 2 didn't have the second largest skillgap of all Halos Implying the Halo 2 sniper is worse than the Reach sniper Implying Reach/4 aren't even more "noobified"

It was. I wouldn't have changed anything about the game.
-
Actually I just like the maps, vehicle health, and dual wielding.

The glitches made the game fun.

Does anyone else remember how "well" Halo 2 was received by the hardcore CE fans? They made a website "Halo2Sucks.com", had a huge community and spent their days and nights posting here as to how terrible it was. Good times. Good times.
-
It was. Stop being haters because you were 6 years old when the game came out. -blam!-ing kids.

Edited by BannedCommando: 2/8/2014 11:37:06 PMWhat really made the switch from Halo CE gameplay to what it is now more competitive is the removal of health packs and fall damage. Having no health packs actually makes the game more competitive. You would think having them would make it more because it causes people to think about what they're going to do, but it doesn't. Having a regenerating system makes it more competitive because you are able to run around and charge at the enemy like retards with less risks and thinking. Then the removal of fall damage makes it more competitive. Instead of being held back by things which results in you thinking of and being more careful about your moments. By having it removed it removes less things you have to think about which results in you jumping off anything like a retard to get to your target. That way there's less thinking involved in killing people. The other thing that really helped was by making it a one gun game which followed. By making one normal weapon the "one ring to rule them all" concept it eliminates people needing other normal weapons for different situations. By having the assault rifle and SMG be near useless it makes people worry less about them and it eliminates the birding of thinking about what weapons to use.

I take it you never had the hassle to take over an entire building to get a game of Halo, that was larger than 2v2. If you had, you would understand why H2 was great. Most of us didn't care about the glitches ( or learned them) and we were more excited to play more than just the regulars . When the best of the crew finally got a run for their money, that.... that was what made H2 great. We all knew about the glitches and excepted them, because the good overshadowed the bad ( or what wasn't available before) at the time. If everyone was down to glitch, it made for some fun times.

As much as I love the Multiplayer gameplay in all Halo games (except that abortion known as Halol 4...), none of them are flawless. they all have room for improvement, some more than others. But I think out of all of them, Reach had the best. Followed closely by Halo CE (LAN parties!!!!) & 3, then Halo 2. But, that's just my opinion.

cOld!
-
I thought it was already known that Combat Evolved has the best multiplayer..
-
Bullet magnetism is a good thing, right guys? Aim assist is a good thing, right guys? LolHalo2
-
Is this a joke or a insult ???
-
I thought it was generally accepted, that the glitches are the only reason Halo 2 needed skill.
-
Massive Hitbox? LOL The Reach hitbox was absurd. You shoot a Spartan in their spine with a Sniper Rifle and it counts as a headshot.
-
Not that I'm seasoned enough to say for certain, but from what I can gather Halo 2 was when aim assist (particularly melee lunge) in first-person shooters was becoming a bit of a necessity. Halo CE had no lunge what-so-ever, and the melee was practically useless unless you caught some bastard AFK as a result. For Halo 2 they said, "Let's fix that." and then they over-fixed it It's completely ignorant to say Halo 2's assist systems aren't broken compared to today's. It's downright stubborn to say the systems and glitches increased the fair skill gap. It's practically desperate to say that halo 4 sucks even more though and so halo 2 was best i bet you never even played halo 2

Halo2 was the most memorable for me and even I laughed. There was a ton of bugs and such. Though a lot if them made things fun. (Getting out of maps/bxr/superbounces/etc)
-
nah halo 2 was the most competitive game of all time. the 8 degree shotgun auto aim was a fantastic addition to halo.
-
Someone was bad at halo 2.
-
I think the flaws made the multiplayer that much better. The "glitches" made games more competitive and added to the custom game experience.
