Hey all,
After reading the article that was published by joystiq.com in February of last year (the link I attached to this post), with all the talk about off-world travel and exploring the surfaces of Venus & Mars for instance, it left me wondering if Bungie's plan to have this be a playable game for as long as a decade means that over the years what additional cost could we be talking about? The game alone will have the obvious normal retail cost $60-70 US dollars. But are we also talking about an ever-expanding galaxy's-worth of DLC's as well? I'm not saying i have an aversion to such a prospect, I'm just asking the question. As large as the scope of the game would seem to be, doesn't it seem like the sky, if not the imagination is the limit? It seems like Bungie is not talking about Destiny being a "series" of games with sequels every few years, but a single ongoing campaign based around this one release. Anyone have any thoughts or insights?
Thanks for your time.

Destiny releases in 2014. In 2015, we will have a major DLC expansion called a 'Comet.' In 2016, we'll have 'Destiny 2.' The following year another Comet. This goes on for a total of four Destiny games and four Expansion Packs. That covers eight years of the Bungie/Activision contract. We do not yet know what the last two years will hold. This is information we've known for a couple years now due to the Bungie/Activision contract being made public.
