Assassin's Creed will be the "Doctor Who" of video games. No ending planned.
Oh shit I'm not sure if this is good or bad. Does this mean we're gonna see Assassin's creed 50 or something in 40 years?
IMO if they keep it fresh that's all well and good. Black Flag was great. However the future stuff has to go. At maximum it's a guy sitting at his computer wondering who's life he's going to look at next.

If they get rid of the animus, and bullshit modern day lord, and mix up the locations ALOT. And use different primary weapons (double swords for Edward, tomahawk for Conor, it could be cool.

They'll have to kill the [spoiler]Precursor woman[/spoiler] at some point. Right? Really, I wish they'd go back to medieval history, the series is moving progressively closer to Watch Dogs. I mean, [spoiler]Desmond's assault on Abstergo [/spoiler]was practically a Watch Dogs beta. They need stealth. And not slaughtering dozens of guards with relatively no repercussions.

I gave up after 3 because the ending just pissed me off too much. A lot of game serious don't know when to end till it's too late and they piss off the fanbase anyways.

OT: That's fine with me, I don't particularly care for the present day story. I just want to experience significant moments in history from a different point of view.

I think we said a cash cow" Yeah I was done with AC after III I'm even more done now and no I don't own black flag. I put my foot down. I'm sick of this series and now even more sick hearing they plan to milk it for good. I can't play a game series that has no ending or story. I played AC because I wanted to find out the ending to the whole apple thing and how it linked from the past to the present day through the animus. Now they are just sticking an 'assassin" (if you can even call it that anymore) in random places of the world in different time periods. Knowing the games won't link to each-other or there is no grand story anymore is a killjoy to me. I'm sure this game will continue for many years and it's will be the cod of single player games.

I guess it has the potential to be almost never ending. Fine by me. I just finished Black Flag and I lived it. Hopefully they just spend a little more time in between each game.

I hope not, unless it's put away for a while and then rebooted. (Come to think of it, a lot like Doctor Who) I've always thought that it's much more difficult to keep a game franchise fresh than a TV franchise just because the player has to be actively involved in gameplay. But more importantly, the reason why something like Doctor Who lasts is because it can make up almost whatever the hell it wants to and it still fits the context of the franchise. Assassin's Creed (ignoring the stupid future stuff which, agreed, has to go) is grounded in the real world and established a trend of having historical settings with important historical figures. They can't make up everything entirely. Eventually they're going to hit a point when they've run out of good options.
