I've been trying to fix this since I got the thing in November. I've looked everywhere online and no one has provided any information that works. I've opened all the ports under the moon, did the UPnP stuff, the whole nine yards. The only thing I haven't tried yet is DMZ, but if nothing else has worked then I doubt DMZ will fix it (since it doesn't actually do anything different)
So, since searching hasn't yielded any results yet, I thought I'd try making my own thread and getting some personal help. Is anyone having this kind of experience?

Yeah, trying to set up wifi on the console is a real bitch (and the lack of support for 5ghz networks doesn't help). I've had it drop on me so many times it's not even funny. I want to get it hooked directly to my router but I don't want to have to run a cable through my house. I really hope Sony patches in support for 5ghz networks, because I have a lot of devices in my house that use the 2.4ghz frequency, and it may be causing a bottleneck for the console.

You set a static IP for your play station, correct?

What exactly is your problem? I presume its connecting to the Internet for PSN or Online gaming?

Doesn't linksys make a Wifi Adapter for the PS4?

Thankfully no, I did however have a nightmare trying to get the Wifi to work. It just kept dropping out midgame and all kinds of nonsense. So I plugged in a LAN Cable and it's been perfect, I also picked up some Powerline Adaptors which work like a Wireless Lan cable (Weird, I know) so when we move house, I don't have to run a LAN through the house from the router :D It's a pity that the Wifi didn't work in mine, but using a Wifi for gaming isn't... optimal to say the least.

What is your router model?

Edited by BannedArcoloid: 1/25/2014 5:59:33 PMHave you tried plugging your console directly into the modem to bypass the router? That might work.

Have you tried just power cycling your router and modem
