Stop what you're doing for a second and think about the word can't. Can't = can not.
Now, repeat this sentence after me: Why can't you be as cool as Officer Nasty.
Take away the apostrophe, and the sentence becomes: Why [b][i]can not[/i][/b] you be as cool as Officer Nasty.
Now how does that make any sense at all? The English language is -blam!-ing weird.

When you remove the apostrophe, you must modify the sentence and make it "Why can you not be as cool as Officer Nasty."
