No one bought BF4 for the campaign, but it's just sad to see how tacked on the campaign was. A 5 hour single player experience is seriously a new low for the shooter genre.
The Bad Company spin-offs had it done right. Humor mixed with tension, wide non-linear levels, and a plot that was coherent and likeable. At least COD has a single player that is worth playing through.
Seriously DICE if it's just an afterthought, don't bother putting it on disc.
*This is coming from a person who played Halo 3, H4, and Reach for the story and whose favorite game of the generation is a tie between The Last of Us and Uncharted 2.*
At least COD has a single player that is worth playing through.
I loled
-
I hate Battlefield because my campaign resets every time I put in the disk to play. I want those achievements dammit!
-
I've played it and thought it was fine.
-
Going to push through it for trophies. Ugh.
-
Battlefield shouldn't have a campaign. Could you imagine it without campaign? Maybe Dice would have had enough time to launch the game with a nearly playable MP.
-
you mean patchfield 4?
-
Halol 4. If we're talking about bad... This takes the lead.
-
Battleflop 4 is a new low for the FPS genre.
Ftfy
At least COD has a single player that is worth playing through.
No. Black Ops was OK, Modern Warfare was some grade A shit-tier writing, especially in MW3.
Seriously DICE if it's just an afterthought, don't bother putting it on disc.
So you're going to complain about the campaign, then say you'd rather not have it? Makes sense.
favorite game of the generation is a tie between The Last of Us and Uncharted 2
Jesus, a game series being milked so hard Mayfield called for their cows back. Not to mention TLOU was the most overhyped game of the millennia because of its pretty CGI. I'm not trying to bash you, but I disagree with everything you posted.

As a PS4 player, I quite enjoy the MP, but the bugs and rubberbanding really detract from the experience as well. The single player was horrendous, I don't even want to talk about how bad it was. Honestly, I'm never pre-ordering another Battlefield game, unless it's Bad Company 3. Don't get me wrong, BF is one of my favorite multiplayer games ever, but I'm just sick of DICE screwing up everything.
-
I wouldn't say it was a new low, because it was at least marginally better than the corridor and QTE filled mess that was the Battlefield 3 campaign, but it was pretty bad in its own right.
-
Battlefield didn't have a singleplayer when it first came out. They should just stick to the Multiplayer which is what people buy it for.
-
They should just do away with the campaign all together and ship the game with more maps and some new gametypes.
-
Bad Company 2's campaign is really good, i need to replay it...
-
The entire game was kind of a let down in my opinion.
-
To be fair the gameplay from the single player was a lot of fun...the story absolutely sucked...
Why couldn't we sacrifice ourselves at the end? I would've done that over the other choices.
Edited by Psycho: 11/14/2013 8:41:50 PMI hope to god when Bad Company 3 comes out (if it does) that it won't be a horrendous piece of shit unlike its legendary status predecessors.
-
Lol no kidding, the MP (at least on 360) is utterly pathetic as well. The maps are total shit compared to BF3.
-
I liked how fun the levels were, but the story was ok (except the ending absolutely sucked horribly ) but I liked the levels and the characters were super likable (especially PAC) and the campaign was super, super fast paced with moments that your heart will be beating super fast, I would say a step up because it was way more fun
-
IT DOESN'T EVEN -blam!-ING WORK, IT DOESN'T SAVE BLOODY PROGRESS
-
I like how 99 percent of the achievements are for the campaign too. I haven't played it yet however.
-
Who the hell buys modern military shooters for their campaigns? That's just pathetic...
-
When will you muppets realise that Battlefield Bad Company was the shit game that started the downward spiral and bow down to the true power of Battlefield 2?!
-
This is a common problem with recent EA Military Campaigns.
-
Edited by CAR105 3: 11/14/2013 8:15:33 PMThey should stop making a campaign portion, and focus on getting more gametypes/modes/maps for multiplayer. Because their single player part drags down the game's quality. DICE should capitalize on their major strength and use it as their main and only selling point.
-
They need to just make the Battlefield games (outside of the Bad Company storyline) multiplayer only. It would probably save a lot of dev time.
