In BF3 my process for learning to fly a helicopter was as simple as inverting vertical look and taking off. In BF4 though the second I got off the landing pad I did a loop-the-loop and crashed the thing on the pad. Flying seems nothing like BF3 if my 3 seconds of flight time are anything to go by. People obviously have it figured out though because I see plenty of people doing crazy stunts in the things. Can anyone who's figured out how to fly give me some tips so I don't have to learn through constant trial and error of crashing them on the landing pad and angering my teammates in the process?

Fly helicopters? Well I'm not much help but you need to be aware of how your helicopter is leveled. Thats all I got.
-
Avoid crashing.

I don't even bother. A dead helicopter is a good helicopter. I only use them when I need to fly to some building and take some snipers out.

Change the control settings for air vehicles to veteran, they're much more similar to BF3.
-
Use a controller if you're not already.

I hate Battlefields controls for aircraft. I can fly a jet but not kill anything. Helicopters? Way out of my league. OT- I have no advice for you. Sowweh.

Edited by TotallyNotDrazil: 10/3/2013 5:46:55 AM
Get good
N'ah seriously now, get a hang on stabilizing your craft first, then check what inclinaison makes the chopper move without gaining/losing altitude. After that it's pretty much just some getting used to.

Don't crash it
