Thoughts on the Google Chromecast?
-
If only it could be used as a wireless HDMI connector for a computer...
-
For a second I thought Google made a ripoff of the Dreamcast and I thought, "Google, can you guys get any -blam!-ing dumber?"
-
I'm confused; does it stream television channels or just YouTube/Pandora/Netflix/etc.? If so, what's the point? Modern TV's already do this anyway.
-
I'm still rather confused as to what this does. If I have a NAS at home, would I be able to stream videos from it to a TV?

$35 is an impulse buy, and if you include the value of 3 months of Neftlix, it's just $11 to be able to stream stuff on your TV. Being able to put Chrome tabs on your TV is a unique feature, and I hope they can push it past beta. I think Apple TV still has the edge with AirPlay mirroring, but that means you have to have all Apple computers. This works on everything (except Windows Phone).
