I'm referring to the "report" function you have for dealing with bad posts.
I used to write little stories in them, or try to describe the offense in the most outlandish way possible. I guess I figured that if someone was actually going to read it, it might as well be interesting.
After seeing Recon's post that reporting is possibly the best method we have for influencing what's "acceptable" in this community, I decided to take up the practice again, but I'm curious if I'm alone in my endeavor.
All I ask is that, rather than testing this on this thread, you go find something in the flood to report (preferably not by me).

Damn I love it when people necrobump. I wish I had seen this thread 4 months ago. But to answer your question, yes, I try to leave a comment or a little story to go with my report of said user. I haven't had to report anyone lately though. Such a shame...
-
I try to, but it's not that often that someone really crosses the line of what's acceptable.
-
I reported someone for being a "-blam!-bucket" once.
-
Just be sure to select the proper "reason" from the drop down, or nobody will read it.
-
Why report when I can just mute them?
-
I'd love to read stories in reports. If only there were reports to read...

I barely report anyway. I enjoy a good debate, a troll, or a fool. You're all here for my entertainment.
-
I did, but no longer do. I had hoped that my opinion on what I was reporting would be helpful in the decision maker's on this site's ability to judge what 'we' think when we report things and why. Now I rarely post a comment, and if anything it is usually something of my view of the poster. I do not believe that enough things I would take to task and report are reported on by others to raise the attention of the automated system / webteam / ninjas, and that I am wasting my time.

lol if they are read, I'm sure you've made someone chuckle! As for myself, I usually am just writing "spam bot" or "troll" or "endless rager" just to keep things simple.
