Destiny is a 10 year journey. So since there is a possibility we may get to keep our character throughout (nothing confirmed) I was thinking...
What if our character aged over the years, like actually grew with us?
EDIT
This doesnt mean you'll be old and and useless, we're talking your character aging from 20 -> 30 years old.

These posts, getting old.

What would be sick, if you got tattoos for completing different events or something similar.
-
So my Exo Hunter will get rusty?
-
Or... What if for every death u lost a hair! (My guy would be bald by level 2
-
You know what would be the best thing ever? Scars. If not only you got more wrinkled or your skin got aged by the years of battle, but if you could get scars, that would be amazing. It would be very complicated to determine when or where in which battles you would get one, but maybe it could be up to us. I don't know, but scars would be like the prove and memoires of many battles and fights, and it would be awesome :D

I will stay young and beautiful forever. *sips anti aging tea*

I want a Devil Walker for my birthday!

I love the concept maybe even scars from specific one time events. Or tattoos. Something to mark your experience. 20-30 isn't quite enough tho IMO. I'm sure we'll be able to play with our characters age in creation. 20-30 or 30-40? Or what about the exo? Rust? Deep gouges in their frames? Seems a little to far. Idk just throwing it out there.

I was about to destroy you for the title, but I get it now. I wouldn't mind being a Silver Fox in Destiny 4... as long as I'm not using a cane. I think of Sean Connery in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
-
No thanks. They're guardians, not prunes.
-
They could do it like Fable 2 where every time you die you get a scar. That would be cool, but aging I'm not really on board with
-
it's true. i mean if we are playing for that long then the armour should not look the same in 10 years as it did on day one. but then you have to ask the question what if you see this rust/scars and think it's not fair that this awesome piece of armour you obtained is now ruined...the only option i can think of is that like an rpg you can choose whether to turn on or off scars/rust, etc.
-
Eh. 20 to 30 isn't that big a difference. Don't really see the point.
-
It's an interesting concept ill give you that it would prolly take a few tries to get right though

Edited by OrbitTrooper114: 7/12/2013 3:49:42 AMIf Mass Effect can do it, so can we (as in importing your character)!

Edited by Voll: 7/11/2013 10:27:14 PMI know it's naive to think that everyone would agree on this one, but please try to be more reasonable/open minded. When Kira and I (and all of those who support this) talk about aging, scars, etc. we're not talking about (although they sound like fun xD) "Cane Wars" or "Freddy Kruegers"... I think it's more on the line of having those subtle touches of "weather-beaten"-ness, about becoming a true Veteran. Five-eight RL years of aging on a character isn't that dramatic. I bet most of your parents look almost the same from 5~8 years ago.

thats a bad a$$ idea dud

The retirement home: your Guardian's Destiny.
-
I like the idea very much! Good idea.
-
That would be cool Seeing my character possibly become an important NPC who trains the next Guardians would be nice to see
-
Great thought...clever title!
-
I like this alot

Edited by Voll: 7/11/2013 6:50:56 PMI think it would be a wonderful addition to the game. I imagine it like in the Fable series (at least the first one) but in a 10-year span (because in that game you actually age very fast!). Battle scars, and aging signs would be the true testament of the journey on our character's faces. And for people that aren't really fond of it... think that we'll have our helmets on most of the time.
